Alas, I can't find anyone mentioning Prince of Nothing, and the fact that Kellhus is an Aryan essentially enslaving a bunch of darker-skinned people.

Wait no nevermind. Same thread:

Next time Scott is feeling depressed about lack of recognition, we can all reassure him that at least he has the support of the white nationalists.

As I've stated before, thinking that blacks and gays are lesser is just flat incorrect and repugnant
You might believe that repugnant, but how can it possibly be "incorrect"?

Ser Greguh,

I don't believe Yagathai is saying there's anything wrong with having a negative view of Neo-Nazi's. He's saying it's problematic to claim they aren't really human because they are Neo-Nazi's.

He's saying that people who disparage them in that way are falling into the same method of thinking that they are. This is false.

That's not actually what I'm saying.

It is of course entirely permissible to have a negative view of a person based on their opinions. It is not, however, wise or useful to reduce them to a stereotype or an objectified class based on that opinion. A person may be a racist, but they are still a person.

If people are surprised that racists still have girl trouble advice threads and talk about their kids... that reveals a level of objectification that is just as dehumanizing, and therefore problematic, as the level that racists have towards nonwhites. It's no different than Bill O'Reilly expressing his surprise that diners at a classy restaurant in Harlem weren't screaming for motherfucking ice tea.

Easy. A fact is a fact: there is no evidence that black or gay people are less than white or straight people. Thinking the moon is made of cheese and the sun is a giant ball of baby back ribs is also incorrect.

I would click the link but I don't want that appearing in any FBI background checks on me. <_<

Haha I've been there quite a few times already, for the novelty of seeing people farther to the Right than I am; I'm already doomed. Funnily enough I believe I first randomly came across it in a thread about the similarity between Gondor and Constantinople and their respective sieges.

Now the one thing that really baffles me about these gentlemen is their ravings about "the Jews". I can perfectly well understand and identify with the desire to preserve the glories of the White Race, though I disagree with it. But really, people, is it genuinely too hard to grasp the simple fact that Jews (the vast majority of them at least) are white too?

Can someone tell me what 4chan is? I dare not actually try to visit it from my own PC.

It is, as was stated, the asshole of the armpit of the taint of the internet. It is an anonymous image posting board, and it is brutal and unholy.

It is, however, very interesting from a cultural point of view -- there are no usernames on 4chan, so the only way to become known, the only way to propagate your presence and identity, is to post something other people will copy or repost. This makes it an almost perfect breeding ground for internet memes and other mindviruses. All the big internet memes of the last few years -- Rickrolling, LOLcats and other image macros, All Your Base, photobombing, Pedobear and Chocolate Rain to name just a few -- came out of 4chan.

It is also an amazing... I don't know what the english word is, but the chinese call it a "human flesh search engine". The 4chan groupmind can find out almost anything about anyone. Often they turn that power to evil but sometimes to good as well. They also engage in guerrilla political and social activism -- see the anti-Scientology "Anonymous" campaign, and so on.

It is a parent's nightmare and an anthropologist's dream. It is awful and awe-inspiring, all at the same time.

Whatever you do, don't google image search "lemonparty" with safeseach turned off.

There was an episode of Northern Exposure in which Joel, the Jewish doctor from NY gets really upset that the Natives are mistaking him for "white." Can't find a clip of it, but it was the Halloween episode from one of the first few seasons. They throw tomatoes at him.

Considering they're debating the whiteness of Iranians, they seem to link whiteness with Indo-European culture. Jews are Semites, so inherently non-white, regardless of skin-color.

Yeah, I don't think any of the people you're finding "repugnant" are using the term 'less than' in a mathematical sense.

oh boy, stormfront. couple years back they were trying to infiltrate alliances and the like on cybernations every now and then to recruit. seeing all the various blocs put aside their mutual loathing to rail 'em outta town whenever they got unearthed really warmed the heart.

if you dont mind having the site in your browsing history you should check out their anime threads. i remember them being barrels of laughs.

I remember two episodes from Louis Theroux (Louis Theroux' Weird Weekends) that were really insightful. In one, he went to a Nazi-family (or was it a KKK family? Now I'm confused) and joined them for a weekend of Nationalist-Racist "fun". There was something very pathetic about them, holding this big rally with like-minded individuals, where there were some thirty odd people all told. And the kids singing racist songs along with the dixie-band. The folks were really nice to Louis, and trying to introduce him to their beliefs. Some guys got really excited with the oppotunity to tell someone of their beliefs, some got carried away. They were really damning the Jews for all kinds of insanity. And then one of them got the idea that Louis might be a Jew. And the one guy he was staying with really got upset. Not violent, but the idea of having a Jew as guest was really messing with his head.

The other time he went to Phelps church, the one behind God Hates America.com. Now they are loonies. I found them way more scary than the Nazis.

It is fascinating that you have opinions on this stuff. (for the record, I find it hard to think of myself as "white" despite being pale enough to look vaugely blue under neon lights. It just has fuck all to do with any aspect of my identity or ethnicity, all of which I share far more closely with plenty of people who are not white than I do with those that are as a category. I might as well declare myself as belonging to the proud nation of people with freckles, or the ethnicity of the between 1.65 and 1.67 m tall.)

There was one with a visit to some South African white pride types as well. Who couldn't understand why Louis seemed baffled that they really liked Aretha Franklin. I wish he'd do some more of that show, it was perfect weeked marathon fodder.

I don't really find it weird that theres a social aspect though. Just about every political group in the end is built around a sense that this is the place you want to be at, that its good and pleasant and real, and that you're wanted and welcome there. I wouldn't even call it a recruiting tactic*, its just how it goes - come for the ideology, stay for the pizza and the banter. (Or vise versa, it dosen't really matter.)

* I mean, i'm a socialist. Duh, I have no problem with the idea that any organization should have unalienated social conduct and such.

I never said it's weird that Neo-Nazis are human beings like us, I just found it kind of creepy and dissonant that they had normal conversations alongside the entire sub-forums dedicated to "Eugenics" and "Taking Back South Africa".

Yagathai, somehow I don't think that these forum members are motivated by patriotism or love of their family.

I just looked at them a minute ago. These racists always squabble over tiny differences in their "White Nationalist" ideologies and other minutia, but they seem to be united by this: they all like Japanese anime.
