They have. Lommy Greenhands as well. They will be introduced towards the end of the first season.

That's excellent news! That gives me hope if they're casting such minor characters (not necessarily Hot Pie, but Lommy most definitely is).

I'm wondering, could Arya, Lommy, and Hot Pie not 'hook up' in a way during Arya's time in KL? I don't see the need to show us much of Arya's traveling stuff in the very end of season 1. The focus should be on the important stuff there. But if they cut to Arya once in a while while she is living on the streets she has to interact with somebody. So I'd not mind at all if they end up joining Yoren just because Arya is going with him as well. On the other hand, that would make it much harder to show us the whole 'Arya scares the hell out of Lommy and Hot Pie sub plot'.

I wouldn't be surprised if Arya sees Hot Pie selling pies. :) That would be funny. But I can't see her meeting both Lommy and Hot Pie before they all join up with Yoren. That stretches credulity too far. I can't remember what Lommy was before he joined up with Yoren?

Otherwise, I think we'll have a brief enough glimpse of them leaving KL. Or she will be introduced to 3 of her fellow travellers before they leave. That might be the easiest thing to do. Gives us a good luck at Gendry then (he can be staring forlornly at his helm). See do people recognise him from before.

He was working for a dyer, right? (Hence the green hands.)

Lord Varys: If HP and Lommy knew Arya from before she joined Yoren (and got a haircut from him) then the whole disguised-as-a-boy thing doesn't really work. And if Arya made any friends in the streets of KL, especially non-starving kids who have steady jobs, that'd be a pretty huge change to her story; it's kind of a big deal that she thinks she's totally alone at that point. So I'm thinking we'll just see them separately in street scenes and when they join up with Yoren.

My guess is that we'll get a little more Yoren in the show than we did in the book. He shows up in King's Landing, he does some recruiting in town, he agrees to take Gendry out of town, and he picks up a few scary people from the dungeons. In the book this is all just briefly mentioned (or explained later in ACOK), but it'd be good to see it so as to set up future plot points, and also to remind us that there are lots of ways to end up in the Night's Watch. HP and Lommy aren't just there as companions for Arya - they sort of represent the many unremarkable kids who didn't commit any crimes and don't have any great destiny, but get dragged through all this hell anyway.

They might just drop the haircut part. She looks like a boy because she has short hair, dresses like a boy and is all scraggly. So she could meet one of Hot Pie or Lommy before hand. Or they could even drop the Arya been a boy angle.

Yoren's only hope of protecting Arya and escorting her to Winterfell is to pretend she's a Night's Watch recruit. They don't take girls.

And Yoren has to be able to recognize Arya in the first place. She doesn't know him and isn't going to come up with the idea of hiding out with the Watch on her own, especially not right after seeing... you know.

While that is true, i'm more thinking that the whole thing can be practically ignored. Yoren probably recognised her because of her reaction to Ned's death. Nobody would otherwise expect some street urchin to be the daughter of a lord. I expect her to look pretty similar before and after Yoren takes her. The only real difference is that Yoren will tell her she must formally pretend to be a boy.

Er... well then never mind, I guess, because what I was responding to was your remark that "they could even drop the Arya been a boy angle."

Brienne's buck teeth. Leave the abnormal size and freckles but no buck teeth. I can't abhor the sight of them.

I've been wondering about this anyway. From the short clips we've had of Maisie, she doesn't really look all that androgynous to me. Also, is it me or does she seem to be wearing some kind of skirt when she's sat watching, right before Yoren grabs her?

Arya

Arya with long hair and not quite a skirt. I should have checked this before I go around posting about Arya. :) So on reflection, it will be interesting to see how Yoren explains why Arya is travelling with the group.

Arya might be smart enough to disguise herself as a boy after she escapes the castle. She knows Cersei is looking for a Stark girl, not a boy, so it would make sense if she met Lommy and Hot Pie first as a boy.

That's why I linked to that pic above. She doesn't look like a boy to me. So we may have the hair cutting scene. Or maybe they'll find another reason for her joining up with Yoren. But can't think of one myself.

I still think it would be amusing if she saw Hot Pie wandering around the streets though. Selling pies. :)

There are plenty of ways that they could disguise her as a boy. A hair cut isn't necessarily needed since boys can have longer hair in this setting anyway.

Either way the disguise doesn't have to be great. As long as she generally resembles a boy (even if she just wore boyish clothing) it would work for the show. As long as the intent is clear, it doesn't really matter if the disguise is convincing or not since we'll all know she's a girl anyway and you can reasonably suspend belief that the characters in the story wouldn't.

The topic isn't in need of further discussion in every other bloody thread. We understand you have a fixation, but GoT isn't being made to fulfill your need for taboo sexual relationships. Plus, they have to work the rape, sadism and dwarf-fucking in and have only so many minutes of screen time to work with.

As for Daenerys' pregnancy: In his latest article TIME's James Poniewozik wrote

Clarke is really commanding and conveys Dany's transformation well. (That is: she can read a line like: "I am a khalessi of the Dothraki! I am the wife of the great khal, and I carry his son inside me!" without it sounding ridiculous.)

Assuming that Mr Poniewozik did not just invent this piece of dialogue, I guess we can conclude that Daenerys' son has not been left out
