I like the artwork for The Scar from the Dyachenko's. But will the book be able to live upto it? Many of Tor's recent debuts have been subpar.

City of Dragons, let's say that I m abeginning to get used to them, but it's still a far cry from those wonderful John Howe covers. If only they'd stayed with him.

From the new Orbit US catalog:

The King's Blood by Daniel Abraham.

Caliban's War by James S.A. Corey.

Sharps by K.J. Parker.

The Killing Moon and The Shadowed Sun by N.K. Jemisin.

Blackout by Mira Grant.

The Fate of the Dwarves by Markus Heitz.

The Traitor Queen by Trudi Canavan.

The Spirit War by Rachel Aaron.

These might not be final covers.

I definitely preferred the original cover, although at least it isn't quite the infamous Hooded Man who seems to be appearing on every book cover nowadays, even if it does look a bit like the Hooded Man wearing a hat instead of a hood.

Not to mention that RF is now apparently a Western. I can see how one could get that impression, but the original cover captured the essence of the book much better.
