The Heroes - Spoiler Edition

I loved the book, it was just little things like the Union's horrible leadership that bothered me. I figured with all the fighting they had been through in recent history, they ought to have some more decent commanders, although Kroy, Mitterick, Brock, and Brint all seemed to be fairly decent, Kroy especially. ALthough the book does a good job explaining why the division commanders are so terrible. I'm excited to see what happens in the next trilogy Joe writes. I'm hoping it leads to a showdown between Bayaz and Khalul, especially now that Bayaz has the Seed, cannons, almost undisputed control of the Union and the North, and a large, battle-hardened army that has been at war on and off for the last 20 years or so seemingly.

And is the Dogman's land in the North part of the Union now? I'm unsure if they are just considered allies, a buffer state, or if they are actually a part of the Union like Westport is or Dagoska was.

Finally, am I the only one who really wants to revisit Styria, now that Monza at the lead of a powerful Talinese army is facing down the Union? I really want to know what happens with her and how Cosca is doing!!!
