ljkeane
Yeah great game but not particularly satisfying for me, England threw away what would have been a great win and a bit of fantasy disaster on top of that.
Ser_not_appearing_yet
Amazing game, both teams choked.Thank God we have Yorkshiremen in our lower order.
IheartTesla
I think India decided early on that 338 was too many runs on the board and took their eye off the ball. Of course, Strauss was marvellous as well, but the Indian bowling during the middle overs was quite pathetic and directionless. The bowling is going to be a big worry going forward. We might need to drop a batsman to make way for a specialist bowler. The batting powerplay.....going to be debates over the next few days about when to take it. That was an intense session of play. Maltaran
Apparently India had one short run off the final ball of their innings.

Jeor
Wow, what a game, I was sorry I didn't get to see the second half (England's innings). And extremely annoyed at England too...I put a $10 punt on at 12-1 odds on England winning the match at the halfway point. One more run and I would have been a decent deal richer!Without seeing the England innings can't really comment much, except to say that I feel vindicated! Having predicted that the Indian bowling was going to be a problem in this tournament, and that India would need to bat first to cover up their weakness as much as possible, this game demonstrated it very well. India needed a huge total because their bowlers aren't good enough to protect low scores.India have a very powerful batting lineup (Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvraj, Pathan, Dhoni!). Yuvraj is probably the 'weak link' in that lineup but they have some serious power in there. However the best way of negating that batting lineup is to make them chase a big target. Under pressure, even the best batsmen will find it tough. So if I were playing India, almost regardless of the conditions I would bat first. It makes them have to play on their weaker discipline first, by which time you hope to have taken enough of a lead on the game that when their strength comes into play it's too late. The Indian tactic these days more than any other team I can remember is use weight of runs to pressurize the team batting second. It quite often works. Its the same rule in test matches imo. Slick Mongoose
Nice work, i've generally been focusing on batsmen and all rounders given the pitches. Two thrashings today, shame after yesterday.

castleonthehill
OK, I know it was Kenya, but God bless The Slinga and his unrelenting adherence to the toe-crunching yorker. What a sight! On a side note, I'm glad the Lankan poobahs decided to get him back into Tests. He's just as lethal there.

Hereward
England have got to bolster their middle order. We need Bopara in at 6 (or even at 5 if Collingwood is going to keep playing like this). Prior doesn't have enough strokes to provide momentum. We're getting away with it because of good starts against poor attacks. We probably won't get away with it against South Africa.
