Jeor
Great pullback from South Africa, restricting India to only 296 after the great start they had. At 1/267 with more than 10 overs to go plus the batting powerplay India really should have blasted at least 90-100 more runs and gotten themselves to 350+ but they could only manage 29 more runs in the last 10 overs. In fact in those last 10 overs they lost 9/29!Although South Africa's batting lineup is thin (a long tail) and they aren't great against spin, I think they might have a chance in this one. India's bowling is still not great and if a couple of the South African batsmen fire, 296 actually shouldn't be too bad given that 300+ scores have already been successfully chased down in this World Cup. This will be a good test for India's bowlers to see if they can hold their nerve.
IheartTesla
South Africa better get a move on, as their lower order is a bit fragile and may not be able to deal with a run rate that hovers around 8.
The Winged Shadow
I was hoping for SA to lose so Bangladesh would've had another chance of going through to the next round. Now we gotta depend on WI to outshine England or beating both Netherlands and SA. Damn this group! :tantrum:
williamjm
Great minds Stubs, I did the same thingI did that as well.I was hoping for SA to lose so Bangladesh would've had another chance of going through to the next round. Damn this group! :tantrum:You're better off in this group than the other one, where there haven't been any upsets so far. It does seem that the England / West Indies game will be crucial - unfortunately for Bangladesh their capitulation against the Windies mean they have a terrible net run-rate so even though they could be level on points against the West Indies if England win the match, the Windies will presumably qualify due to the run-rate. With England's recent form I doubt anyone could predict how the match is going to turn out.

If England doesn't lose, our chance of getting in is pretty much nil.
Ser_not_appearing_yet
Judging from this WC so far, the Windies/England game will be decided on the last ball. This world cup is the first time as an England cricket fan I've understood what its like to be Pakistani. The Winged Shadow
That was such a boring 325 by Australia. Wish Watson stayed in longer. The middle order of Australia is effective but so damn boring to watch. <_<
Paxter
Solid win from Bangladesh today - even if they don't make it to the quarter finals they have done well to pick-up three wins out of five. Overall though, the last couple of days of the WC have been dire and we still probably won't see decent game until WI v Eng on the 17th. Terrible tournament format once again from the ICC .

I think I may be jinxing Tamim Iqbal though, that's twice I've made him captain in my fantasy team and he's then made a duck :(
Paxter
South Africa wobbling against Ireland? Didn't see this one coming, even taking Ireland's good form in this competition into account.
Stubby
Just to ensure that Ireland wins, 270+ should be enough to get SAf home.
adamsputnik
Is it a bit of a worry that Kenya scored 264 on the Australian attack? They didn't even make that much against Canada.
Stubby
Captain Grumpy looked like he was gonna chuck a big dummy spit towards the end of that innings. Yes he may have hurt his finger again but that is a poor excuse for his poorly concealed anger.
ljkeane
This is starting to look ominous for England, if they manage to get knocked out of the group phase specifically designed by the ICC to be a boring progression for all of the big teams I won't be impressed. :tantrum:
Vestrit
Captain Grumpy looked like he was gonna chuck a big dummy spit towards the end of that innings. Yes he may have hurt his finger again but that is a poor excuse for his poorly concealed anger.I thought chucking the ball like he did was pretty petulant. But I completely agree with the daggers and pretty arsey behaviour towards Smith.Ponting clearly called for it a number of times and told Smith to get out of it, and Smith ignored him and ended up colliding (albeit pretty unforcefully) with Ponting. Ponting should have given Smith an absolute spray for that, it was fucking village.Captain Grumpy has behaved pretty badly over the past few years. In his defence though, he started his career coming into a team that had some of the best players of all time in it and an environment and set-up that demanded and expected excellence. And now he's having to tell players like Smith that when another player calls 'Mine' you have to try not to run into him... Christ, I'd have been annoyed if I had to remind an under-16s player of that.

Every time the camera focussed on him he looked like he was two seconds from a massive dummy spit. It can't be conducive to a good team vibe IMO. Players stop thinking that he's got a point and just think 'Here's goes Ricky again...'
