Regina Thorne
Power corrupts. Besides even in book 2 she kept trying to destroy Tyrion when he was just trying to defend the city against the Baratheon boys. It's not JUST power corrupting - in short order Cersei watched her eldest son die in front of her eyes and was powerless to stop it (we, the reader see Joffrey as a vicious sociopathic bully, but Cersei remembers the birth of her firstborn child pretty vividly, and I have to say that as a mother, I actually do feel terrible for both Cersei and Catelyn watching their children die. I think I would go crazy in pretty short order if anything ever happened to my own child! On top of that, shortly afterwards, her beloved father is also murdered. I think she's under a lot of psychological strain that's compounded by her growing estrangement from Jaime, who was the one person to whom she could have metaphorically let her hair down. I don't, despite my avatar, actually LIKE Cersei or wish her well, but I can feel a lot of empathy for her early on in Feast before she starts sending people off to Dr. Frankenstein Qyburn!
