I was bit surprised when I read that she had been cast for the role, she created quite stir here in Germany when she won a major movie award a few years ago and her past was revealed. Not shocking at all, considering that Sibel is supposed to be quite talented and a legitimate actress now. It would be more surprising if this was say, network television. Head-On--which is where I know her from--made something like fifty bucks in its American theatrical release, almost entirely from an art-house audience that wouldn't be shocked by the news that Kekilli had once starred in a pornographic movie. (Its audience presumably overlaps a lot with The Girlfriend Experience, which starred Sasha Grey and which also made like fifty bucks.) Now she's playing a tertiary role in an upcoming TV show. Very waifish looking woman, and most of her photo stills are conservative.Also, quick look at her wiki entry shows that she was more acclaimed for her dramatic roles in German films, and her "porn" history only surfaced afterwards by ravenous tabloids. HBO has had no problem simulating sex of all sorts and kinds, having massively brutal violence on screen and to my knowledge the biggest protests they've ever had have come over their portrayal of mormons as all wanting multiple wives. They definitely were not all from the same movie/video. But as you guys have mentioned, more than one porn actress has made a successful transition to mainsteam film.
