- when I think about it, this post was just way too full of spoilers -

The point I was trying to make (with the spoiling examples) was that flashbacks would be just that, spoilers. The books are written in a POV manner so each character imprints the observations with his or her on personality and presumptions. Many characters have different experiences and observations when retelling the same events. These differences are major plot points.

Unless the producers could represent the flashbacks in an obvious dream manner obscuring faces showing focus then it would not work. How to show the TOJ scene with only Ned memory of it and showing only what Ned was focussing on in his memories is not that easy.
