The Storm Kings

Recommended Posts

What we do know about the Storm Kings? We know how their dynasty began during the Heroic Age, and how it ended, but we know nothing on the extension of their dominion (every patch of land from Shipbreaker Bay to the Riverlands?), for example, and we don't have an estimate on how much time do they existed.

I know they had for some three centuries, against the kings of the Riverlands, and that they killed the last one of them. Also, I'm not sure, but they fought the Ironmen (in the Riverlands).

Any info and/or theories on them?

Thanks.

The first Storm King was Durran

who was a contemporary of Bran the builder which indicates that he was a Firstmen

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Storm_King

the Storm Kings had names like Arrec (similar to Erik) and Argilac (which sounds like a bit like Ecgric)

Yet the were around at the time of Aegon's landing and weren't mentioned as being different from any of the other of the Southron kings, which indicates they must have converted to the faith of the Seven.

Robert is also a Germanic name that means "Fame Bright", although several kings of Scotland had that name and Robert physiognomy (black hair and blue eyes) is often associated with the Irish.

So I for one would really like to know more about them.

Why they seem to have been the same dynasty that ruled during Bran the builder's time, but are not mentioned as being First Men by any character;
