The Anti-Targ
After Robb's army relieves Riverrun Robb and those of his bannermen who keep the old gods go to Riverrun's Godswood. Maege Mormont is among them.So it would seem the Mormonts probably keep the old gods as a family. Jorah may have converted, whether for personal advancement or spiritual conviction who knows. I suspect the former.
uncle fester
In the second book, when Jon talked about how his father believed it was impossible tell a lie beneath a heart tree, the Old Bear said, "My father believed the same."Makes me think that the Mormonts followed the old gods. When Robb and his bannermen are praying to the old gods, Maege is with them. It's very strongly implied that Jeor follows the old gods. There's a bit in the books where Bran is watching the bannermen arrive at Winterfell and he asks Maester Luwin who many knights there are and Luwin answers that there aren't that many knights because they don't follow the 7 but in response, Bran simply asks "but how many knights?" as in how many of the equivalent to knights.
