An Ironborn Son
I too have just started reading AFFC and I think the first couple of chapters have been just as solid if not more so than in books previous. A lot of folks don't seem to like the Greyjoys too much, maybe it's the whole pirate thing but I think that the whole angle of a crazed priest who has such religious fervor creates a nice counterbalance towards all the characters who are supporters of the Lord of Light. And with all the other king intrigue going on it helps to finally get some interest in the ironmen.
Mattyp
I'm about to start AFFC and I'm a little wary. It has so much hate directed at it and many reviews on Amazon seem to suggest that it shows the GRRM has bitten off more than he can chew, and by introducing so many more characters he has just made the series harder for him to finish.I've heard there are 3 POV from the Iron Islands is this true? That seems like massive overkill...
