I too am hoping for some Parker.

But man, Abercrombie is supposed to hit that quick? I sure hope its true. (BTW, spell check thinks the correct way to spell Abercrombie is Beachcomber).

I believe Glen Cook's new Dread Empire novel A Path to Coldness of Heart will be published in 2012.

Caine's Law by Stover comes out in February I believe.

In April.

Here is the blurb for Fultz's debut novel Seven Princes:

An ancient necromancer slaughters the king and his court in front of the unbelieving eyes of crown prince D’zan. From that moment, his life is consumed by one thought – to regain his throne. Others will join him, some will oppose him. In a world where men and giants fight side by side against ancient monsters and new powers, only one thing is sure – war is coming. Blood will run. Princes will clash.

Seven Princes. Seven destinies.

All will be legend.

A new Erikson? What's the topic?

(did I miss this discussion?)

The first of his Kharkanas Trilogy, set 300,000-odd years before the main series. It tells the story of Anomander Rake, Silchas Ruin, Mother Dark and all the shit that went down between the Tistes and the shattering of the Shadow Realm and so on and so forth. Apparently they're going to be slightly shorter than the main series novels (20 chapters rather than 24, which means still around 750-800 pages in hardcover) but will come out at 18 month intervals (so I'd expect the first one in late 2012).

You forgot The Winds of Winter by George r.r. Martin

Without further information, I'm not even going to put this on a speculative list until we do The Books We're Expecting in 2015 :P

Wert,

You listed SHADOWS OF THE APT book #9 coming out in mid to late 2012. I know HEIRS OF THE BLADE, SHADOWS OF THE APT book #7, is coming out in October 2011. When is book #8 going to be released?

Good point. Book 8, The Air War, was originally pencilled in for Spring 2012, but the delay to Heirs of the Blade may have delayed it, probably bumping #9 to 2013.

There will be another Esselmont novel in 2012, called Throne & Orb

Last I heard, this remained in place for 8 December 2011. Esslemont's next book, Assail, may be a 2012 release but given the 1 year+a month or two slippage between the last few books, it's more likely early 2013.

Erikson says that The Forge of Darkness is half-finished. I think it will be released in 2012.

Anyway, I am finding it refreshing to read what goes on here for another reason, as I am halfway through the first Kharkanas novel, brow knitted as I wonder what the hell I'm doing -- which is exactly how I felt while writing MOI. Let's hope lightning strikes twice, huh?

To be fair maybe only releasing one book a year as opposed to two is hardly a huge slip given his company. His books seem to vary in length and due to focusing on different characters one book may take longer than another. I guess it would be a stretch to have book 13 out before 2013 but I wouldn't entirely run it out.

What about the Dresden files? I'm a bit confused about the released dates.

Book 14, Cold Days, is apparently due in mid-to-late 2012.

No that doesn't seem right....

Yeah, a lot of people went, "Huh?" over that one.

Though nowhere near as much bafflement as was generated when he said the book afterwards would be The Shining II

Jesse Bullington mentioned on his blog a while back that Orbit bought a third novel, Hook and Cod. No idea if it'll be released next year or not though.

Morituri (a Spartacus: Blood and Sand novel) by Paul Kearney

I'm not too sure about a Spartacus tie-in novel, but if it's Kearney it's gotta be good.

Any more news on the final Sea Beggars?
