In some of the Iron Island chapters, some of the Ironborn are rumored to be able to turn into seals (the Farwynds of Far Light?).

So there are clearly pinnipeds in Westeros, and that is what the Bay of Seals is named after.

In Jon's chapters, the wildlings' treasures include some carved walrus tusks (?). And isn't one of the leaders of the Free Folk called The Walrus, or something along those lines?

Further evidence that the entire series is based on GRRM's regard for the flippered species of the sea.
