H.T. Lannister
I know I'm probably late in the game, but I realized the other day that I'd found the three stooges in A Game of Thrones. (G.R.R. Martin said they were there somewhere.) In the Tyrion chapter where he's "traveling" with Catelyn to the Vale, the three men-at-arms in service to Lord Bracken who are escorting them are Lharys, Mohor, and Kurleket. Larry, Mo, and Curly. What references to other works of fiction have you guys found?
zmflavius
There's a references and homages thread in the main sub-forum, but it has spoilers from further books.
House Balstroko
Well I guess The Wall could be a reference to hadrian's Wall in England, which was built by Romans to defend against threats in the north.Or come to think of it, the Great Wall of China fits that description as well. The Mountain That Posts
In the fourth book, there's a Wheel of Time reference in the Asha chapter. Also, pretty sure I read something about there being some X-Men reference in the books. Forget what it was though.
