I hope eveyone had a better eqinox than I did though today was definatly interesting, I got asked to run a course at $500 a head for around 12 people on spiritualism. I am seriously considering it since $6k for 2 days would be nice. That of course is not counting the time planning the course.

Last night I split with the fiancee so yeah not a good equinox at all.

Hope things are going better for you Gryphon. :grouphug: Did you do the workshop?

@ Ski - are you going to the London thing that's going on now that you're in UK?

Hello Aussies! *waves*

Back in Perth for a holiday after an eventful start to the year! Has been great catching up with the Sydney BwBers on a regular basis and am looking forward to visits from the Stubbies and Ser Cam over the next few weeks.

Hope everyone is well and Happy Easter (or Ä’ostre for GS) :grouphug:.

Not sure Arya misuse is the real question and since the union seems to have said that it was fine for him to do so............I think it shows abuse by the union more than anything else

Yes he got cash advances and hired hookers but in the shady world of union politics well obviously the union thought it was apropriate. I think everyone is currently forgetting that no charges have been laid not by state police or by federal police thus how can he be guilty?

Yes I guess you're right. I nearly joined the HSU a few years ago- am glad I didn't. They're notorious (which I know now) for being a useless union who do little for their members.

Try the TWU I was with them back in 98 and the boss was clearly underpaying us so we called the union in to fix it and what happened, the boss paid for 5 new memberships and the union went away. Upon complaint to the union they insisted it was the correct rate so we left the union.

So a new Greens leader, hmm really not sure what to say I have long regarded Brown as the only decent leader in parliment. I mean he manages to keep a group of extremist nutcases under control and looking as a viable alternative and now he is gone.

Also the north Koreans "satellite launch failed at first stage seperation so I am wondering if they bought stage 2 from the french since in the multinational launches at woomera it was always the french stage that failed.

The Greens are screwed without Bob Brown. Like you say, it will now be a bunch of nutcases fanatically peddling their own agendas without overarching framework and guidance, which is what Bob provided.

Thanks Stubby.

Yeah I lean towards Green Arya but having seen the grass roots level and the "agenda's"/agendi of the various members of the greens well I am sorry but it won't work.

Then again Labour/Liberal truly doesn't work either and at least the Greens do work in a democratic fashion unlike the big two. I get it now! The Greens function in a democratic fashion but don't bleat on about it, the big two are antidemocracy but scream the opposite and people beleive them. Now do you see why I think most people should never have any say in Goverment? ie a vote.

I'd love the opportunity to cast a vote (that will count for something) to someone where it wouldn't just funnel back to Liberal or Labor. The Democrats in their heyday for example.

Exactly my problem Callum, how to be democratic in a nondemocratic system?

The river Murray is the perfect example we know what is needed but noone in power is prepared to do what is needed to fix it.

the carbon tax will do absolutely nothing to help in re to global warming but we still get the big sell and when you actually look at it the big polluters are actualy getting subsidised to fucking pollute!

The founding farthers in the US made the statement that once political parties get involved then democracy is lost. They have been proven oh so very right and even worse than dictators calling the shots we have "merchants" doing so. The very people government is supposed to preotect the citisens from are the ones running the show!

Sorry for the rant folks nicotine withdrawal is my excuse ohh and frustration with an extremely corrupt system.

Brown will be missed, I certainly don't always agree with him but it is impossible not to respect the man.

I don't see the greens maintaining their current level of support though. Milne is capable but she doesn't have anywhere near the same level of charisma and I don't know if she'll be able to keep the hard left under control.

I can't help but wonder why he decided to quit now though.

My guess is he wants to give Milne a solid chance, in the hopes that will keep the Rhiannon wing at bay.

Christine Milne is respected inside the party and out, and proved her mettle when she handled the Green end of the carbon pricing negotiations with aplomb.

Unfortunately she also comes across like that teacher who wouldn't let your class out early on the last day of term.

Wow, that's a perfect description of Christine Milne. It's a bit unfair, but so accurate.

'a bit unfair'?

Coming from someone who said:

When I read Horza's quote from Kgaddaphi, I sometimes feel like it was directed at me. Now, I realize how arrogant that sounds. But at the same time, I am a drunkard on the internet. Do you believe me?
