'a bit unfair'?

Coming from someone who said:

What was unfair about that?

I have worked with both grass roots and executive level Greens and sorry but most of them are indeed nutcases.

At one stage it looked like clearfelling might be stopped because we had ample plantation timber to carry the load, they started talking about what to do if that happened. You know what they decided?

If clearfelling of oldgrowth forest were stopped then they would start working to save the fucking plantations!

So please don't tell me these are sane and/or reasonable people.

If you say so, GS. But if not thinking things through is your bar for nutcase I don't think there's a sane person walking the earth.

Now your getting someplace!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously passion is great and all but reason has to have a place also. Granted the opposition to the Greens is often people who have failed to adequetly do their job.

Heck I was at a trail for people blockading an illegal clearfelling operation and even though the queens council proved that they were innocent and the judge castigated the prosecutor for failing to make his case he still found them guilty!

When faced with that on a regular basis you either become saints or batshit crazy.

I left the movement because the crazy's were asking me to train them in methods that would escalate things.

I would settle for more functional and less snouts in troughs Sh_wulff I guess I am just too old and have seen to much to be capable of beleiving the system works the way they say or does what they say it is suppossed to.

What it does do is protect the filthy rich scumbags who pay lip service left right and centre to things like morals etc all the while happily buying people to ensure they stay filthy rich and priveleged and never have to actually pay for any mistakes they make.

I personally wouldn't even try following the money trail since if you get anywhere near the end then your gonna disappear or committ suicide by ohh I don't know ripping your own throat pout barehanded?

or how about shooting yourself with no GSR or powder burns?

Sorry to burst peoples bubble if they think otherwise but the world IS a very nasty place and even our safe little corner is as corrupt as all hell.

I am getting confused here, first we have a major thinktank come out and say "Prohibition does not work it is time for discussion about better ways of dealing with the drug problem"

Now we have people seriosly talking about an early withdrawal from Afghanistahn though how it can be called early afrter 10 years is something of a puzzle to me.

Hi everyone!

I will be in Sydney on the 28/29th of April and would love to catch up with any BWBers. At the moment trying to nail down whether it would be the Saturday or Sunday night, so those who are interested please indicate which ones you are available on. Hope to see you all soon!

Unlike Stubby, it is great timing for me. I will be there for both days of the weekend since I have training at Sydney on Monday. So either will do, but Saturday is definitely the preference.

Stubbs and Lou done visited and gone already.

I'm fine with Saturday night, should be fun.

Stayed at the same fantastic 'guest house' that Cam will be lodging at as well. :)

You couldn't ask for a nicer host Cam.

This question is directed at all the A-League fanatics out there, has anyone heard news on the whole Jets going to die debacle? Nil, Horza I am mainly looking at you two well informed souls.

Well the owner has/will hand back the Jets license to FFA. All the players and coach is pretty upset. But FFA is saying that the conditions of getting the license was that it will stay in effect till 2020(?) or something like that. So they may take the owner to court. If FFA doesn't do anything, Jets are done for the moment. I am so bummed that I didn't go to see one of the Jets match here in Newie :(

Tinkler can't hand it back, he's locked into a contract and the FFA can sue him for $50-100m in damages for pulling this stunt, so I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of backdown.

There's no way they can give up on Newcastle so if those talks fail they will cancel his license and find new owners. The bad news is that whatever happens there will be months of chaos and it may be hard to put together a competitive team. (oh and this doesn't help next years TV deal negotiations one bit).

Hmmm so much for this united Newcastle sports front. What are Tinkler's reasons for wanting out?

It's probably a combination of cashflow issues and some major butthurt on FFA stiffing him on the license fee. He's got a point on the latter but it's still a dick move, he's done a lot of damage to the game when shit was bad enough already.

Cheers mate. I really hate dick moves. Has the rest of the league or FFA been on struggle street? I must admit I know next to nothing that has been going on in that area.

Also wondering if this issue will make Tinkler rethink his other sporting investments in Newcastle.
