Namely, the Night's Watch lost a ton of guys north of the Wall. If they hadn't gone, those same guys would've been there to protect the Wall when the wildlings attacked. That means that Catelyn has no reason to suspect anything of Bran's fall other then a bad accident. She never goes to Kings Landing. She never arrests Tyrion on the word of LF. And so and so forth. It has just occured to me tht this wasn't some trick by Roose Bolton to implicate Jaime in the plot to kill Robb. Instead, Roose Bolton was literally fulfilling a promise made in response to an offhand comment by Jaime to "send his regards to Robb Stark". Now, because of hearing this, Catelyn feels betrayed by Jaime and blames him for the death of Robb (and is allso mistrustfull and paranoid in general) and will probably kill Jaime in the next book.
