oscarinfw Posted June 19, 2012 Share Posted June 19, 2012 I doubt the "Pate" in the prologue is suppose to be the same "Pate" as at the end of the story. Maybe a different "Pate". How could a fake Pate simulate the real Pate in front of long time friends ?Regardless, the new Pate would appear to be an FM infiltrating the citadel with the master key the "real" Pate gave him in the prologue. Anie Posted July 31, 2012 Share Posted July 31, 2012 I thought that Jaqen/the FM wanted Aemon.Especially with the dragonglass candle, and Alleras and Archmeaster Marwyn not wanting Sam to repeat any of the stuff he told them, especially dragons. Marwyn/Jaqen/the FM may have something to do with Dany and the dragons, and the Targaryen line. Not to mention the whole prophecy.I wouldn't be surprised if Marwyn was a FM, taking on the face of Aemon to join with Dany and either lead to her conquest of Westeros or her downfall.
