ServantOnIce
I always picture Tyrion in the books being uglier . . Peter is too good looking to be Tyrion even pre "nose job." Cersei, again has more curves . here is Queen Cersei in my opinion . . http://www.lewpblog.com/wp-content/uploads/09-pamela-anderson-baywatch-lg-42323800.jpg before her face got harder as she got older, A Young Pam Anderson look a like is perfect. LH is just too "unappealing" to be Queen Cersei. Now here is without a doubt Arienne of Dorne http://www.leninimports.com/salma_hayek_gallery_29.jpg a young Salma Hayek around the time she did "Desperado." That is Arienne hands down . IMO. Not A Lannister
I wonder how they're going to chop is nose off.....I assume they'll use a shit load of make-up or "fix" the story so it's just a big scar.
Dark Rider
I always thought that the chopped off nose was a bit excessive. Besides isn't only the tip 1/3 of his nose that was cut off? I think they should just give Tyrion a big scar across his face for the HBO series. Besides chicks dig scars right?
ServantOnIce
Here are some more Samwell Tarly The Mountain Clegane The Red Viper Tormmun G. and Melisandre of course would be C. Hendricks from "Mad Men" Ol Stubborn Stannis wouldn't stand a chance .

ServantOnIce
I always think that Melisandre in the way she acts reminds me of this "Married With Children" character . . Silverin
I read the first book before the series strated. The second, third and fourth along the way. I sort of made up my own so I am having a hard time showing how do I imagine them. But there are a few exeption:Before I started reading the books, I had spent a summer at my grandma's helping them. She was watching a realy lame russian soap opera, and in that the heroin was a rather short whiteblond haired girl. The actress was horrible, was compeletely wooden. She had tanned skin and plastic was written all over her face, she was so extremly unnatural especially since it was supposed to be a period drama. So I guess exactly because Dany supposed to be just as exotic as a plastic girl in a period drama, I can't help but imagine her as Dany. Don't remember the name of the series or the actress, so sorry that I can't show pictures.Jaime: Nikolaj Coster Waldau compeletly overshadowed my original picture, so I don't even remember how I imagined him originally.Tywin: the same as Jaime. Charles Dance is Tywin period.I imagine Jon as a younger Benjen (TV show) as well. I absolutly can't see Kit as JonRichard Madden seems more like the way I imagined Edmure actually, lol. It is not that strange since Robb is 14 at the beginning of the book. I made up my own imagination and mixed it up with a red haired boy I met a long ago when I was around twelwe at summer camp and that is how I imagined Robb.Peter Dinklage is too pretty to be tyrion, so I can't see him.I think Michelle plays Cat so perfectly, that I imagine Cat as a little bit younger version of her as well. Morte
I did start with the tv show, but only a few of the actors had an impact on my imanigation of the characters:Barristan, Varys, Littlefinger (who is very close to the book anyway), Drogo (very fitting!), Maester Aemon, Bran ...and Tyrion, because his actor is simple great, even if he's also way too handsome (so well, I always have to remind myself why all the people say Tyrion is ugly, as I see Peter Dinklage in my head^^).Show-Jaime is okay, the actor does a good job, however, I see Jaime more like:http://algesiras.fre...siras_twins.jpgand later: http://algesiras.fre...ras_maindor.jpgMy Theon is somewhere between: http://algesiras.fre...siras_theon.jpg and http://en.amokanet.r...p=1&template=82And Jon is 1. skinnier, 2. taler, 3. not so broad and has thinner lips and straith hair.I don't even start with the other male.As for the ladies, this portraits are quite fitting IMHO:http://daenerys-mod....534735?offset=0I also like this picture, because Dany is more girlish in it, as she should be, but seldom is in fanart: http://algesiras.fre...anartasoiaf.jpg
Maroucia
To me, the overall casting of the show is really good. It’s true that the actors are not, most of the time, exactly as the characters are described in the book, but most of them really get the spirit of there role. As for show-Hound, I love him, and he’s tall! 6’7… At first, I thought the scars where not gruesome enough, but after a few scenes, I changed my mind because, if they did the full scares as in the book, it would be really hard to look at him, too gross… I mean, it’s already gruesome, and I’m sure if I would meet someone looking like that on the street, that would be pretty impressive.I hope they’ll cut at least a little piece of Tyrion’s nose, maybe they can tone it down a bit, but he needs to loose some of that nose! munequita_linda
It just looks icky, especially with his greasy hair. Now I'm thinking on it, he's definitely nothing like my book-Hound. Do you not think the actor is a bit short as well? I thought he was a bit.. what's the word.. squat? I'll be interested to see how he does the Arya scenes though, his character definitely turned around for me then.Rory McCann is 6'7".So, no, he isn't short. At all.Sophie Turner is quite tall as well, (5'9") as Sansa is SUPPOSED to be, so she doesn't exactly look tiny next to him.

I'm not saying the actor is. Simmer.
munequita_linda
I, uh, wasn't bothered? You said "Do you not think the actor is a bit short as well?" I answered that he wasn't.And then explained why he may not look as tall as he actually is. So maybe you should simmer?
