The Best imaginable Scenes from the Winds of Winter

Val the boring, erm, ahem, Wilding Princess dies or, better yet, merely disappears into the oblivion of over heated male fantasy in which she originated.

Arya getting defeated by one of the numerous men she is sent to assassinate, because, honestly, an 11 year old sylph of a girl effortlessly killing numerous grown ass men with her badass ninja/ assassin skills has come, after 2 books, to strain not only credibility, but believability, good writing, and basic common sense.

Jaime dies, rather than (predictably, ridiculously, and for these books, repetatively) managing to pull his way out of an impossible (cheesy cliff hanger) situation.

Syrio Foyle stays dead.

Cersei’s sex life is never mentioned again. Ever.

I sense the Sparrows and carrion crows might make a good team.

Would-be-nice thing: Illyrio comes to Westeros and hires Hot Pie for a cook. In mere two weeks Hot Pie saves enough for opening his own bakery and starts making cupcakes with little direwolves on them. It becomes a symbol of guerilla in whole Westeros.

In a separate event Darkstar at night attempts to steal in Hot Pie's bakery and steal things, but the little girl Weasel who found her way back to Gendry and Hot Pie (one more yay!) overpowers him. Darkstart is arrested and chooses to take the black (because it suits his eyes). He is on his way to the Wall when Ramsay takes him and attempts to make a new Reek for himself. But Darkstar is only surprised that Ramsay can not memorize his name. He corrects him each time politely but dissaprovingly repeating "Darkstar". Darkstar of the night. Ramsay slowly loses his confidence, pride, mind and health. Darkstar collects his stuff and resumes his journey to The Wall. Of course, he gets a little lost and ends up at Winterfell where Roose is still holding his own against Stannis. Darkstar passionately enlists into Roose's army after Roose tells him how bad it was for all these years to live "in the shadow of Starks". He is entrusted with carrying a flag in the next attack (because he really does not suit for anything else). Darkstar is fond of the colour pink, but not evey day. Some days his face seems too flushed against it. So he goes into the storage and finds himself a nicer flag thinking that everyone will look at him, not at some stupid cloth anyway. It so happens that the flag is the old Stark flag and when he raises it, half of men get scared and desert, another half turn on Roose giving way to their supressed anger. Darkstar is shocked by such brutish behaviour. He politely lays flag on the ground and jogs to The Wall. After reporting for duty he overhears Tormund talking about Night's King and thinks he is one too. And mentions that near Melisandre

People are welcome to elaborate on "Darkstar goes to see The Wall" :D

Val isn't boring IMO. She tries to escape imprisonment three times, and one of those times she stabs a man-at-arms in the neck. She even 'stole' Jarl when the tradition is for men to steal women.

The red comet reappears and crashes into the wall, unleashing hordes of others. Westeros gets raped pillaged and murdered. Completely destroyed. Dany arrives at the deserted continent with three full grown dragons, a khalassar, the unsullied and Victarion's fleet. Serves her right for stalling the invasion.

The Stark children reuniting, especially Arya and Jon

Arya and Nymeria reuniting in Westeros

Sam telling Jorah his father's last words

Stannis giving his kings blood to wake the stone dragon at Dragonstone

Tyrion and Jaime mending fences

Cersei leaving the world as she entered it, with Jaime

Dolorous Ed, happy

Walter Frey killed by several of his daughters, and maybe a wife

But mostly, ANY kind of cooperation and alliance between characters we already know so that they use dragons and knowlege from the COTF and the Citadel to defeat the Others.

Jon lives but very injured. Dany finally arrives with her dragons at kings landing. Howland Reed tells Jon evey thing,Sansa kills Cersie and then Jamie escorts her back to Winterfell Arya hears about her sister so she heads north. Bran is stuck in the cave UnCat finally gets ahold of Ramsey. The ending would be Jon Arya and Sansa all arriving in Winterfell to see thousands of Others all on bended knee whispering "The King of Winter" and in the middle of them all stands a small boy with a giant black direwolf.

Roose kills Ramsay after Fat Walda delivers their second healthy son. Within minutes, a Faceless Little Girl kills Fat Walda and the two sons, the final three Frey heirs, before setting out to kill the Late Lord Frey.

I don't really think any of these make her particularly interesting. Her personality is barely explored in Jon's chapters. She comes across to me as a bit unrealistic, like a typical fantasy warrior woman. I don't think it's very realistic for a woman with no experience in combat to overpower a man-at-arms, and regardless I don't think stabbing someone makes you particularly interesting anyway.

She was about as developed as Daario and Penny (although I actually -- controversially! -- liked Penny).

One scene that is an absolute must for me is a trio of chapters after the battle of fire taking places from the POV's of Tyrion, Dany and Victarion where we see what they all think of eachother.

Jon does NOT die of his wounds, only loses consciousness and is saved, possibly by intervention by Melissandre or a true friend in the nights watch. Or maybe though a 'miracle' itself...

Howland Reed arrives at the wall and reveals the truth to a recovering John.

We find out, through Bran or whoever, who Coldhands really is.

Sansa meets The Hound again. She has been indoctrinated by little finger, and the Hound reminds her of who she really is, and helps her escape from LF.

Howland Reed somehow meets UnCat, and she learns the truth about John. She is overwhelmed with guilt for her unfair treatment of him and lets Jamie and Brienne go so they can continue to look for her daughters.

Failing that, Brienne finds Jamie and together they escape and/or kick UnCats ass.

The Red Wedding, part 2, commences at Riverrun, with or without UnCat (though WITH would be so much better).

Arya returns from Bravos and gives UnCat the gift of mercy (after she gets to see that one of her daughters is still alive).

Jamie and Brienne realize that their swords must be reforged into one...Gendry must forge them. ICE re-forged and becomes Lightbringer (FIRE).

Sam meets an undercover sand snake at the Citadel (Sarella Sand), together they learn what the Maeste'rs true motivations are. Sam stops whining so much.

Sam finally stands up to his father.

Stannis and Lord Manderly give the Boltons what for.

We see Ser Loras and Aranne Waters together on Dragonstone, Loras uninjured, planning their next move against the Lannisters. Possibly in concert with Varys...

Arya returns to Westeros, having learned how to change her face, but never forgetting that she is Arya Stark of Winterfell. She finds Nymeria again and eventually makes it to the wall, where she gets reunited with John.

Dany returns with a horde of Dathraki and Drogon roasts Mereen.

Dany forgives Jorah and takes him back into her service.

Tyrion meets Dany and discovers that there is a woman in the world he can truly respect. He gets over his pity party and realizes that leadership does not always have to include cruelty. He figures out how he REALLY feels about his family and stops feeling guilty about killing Tywin. Thinks about how to kill Cersei.

Victarion steals a dragon and takes it with him to Westeros! He roasts Euryon Crows Eye in dragon fire...

Dany pursues him in a fury! Dragon fight over Westeros....! and then....in the midst of the struggle...the OTHERS come. Dany and Victarion have to join forces (and somebody else figures out how to fly the last dragon) and fight them off.

Theon gets to skin Ramsay.

Asha leads the Ironborn after the Victarion roasts the Crows Eye.

And at some point, after Sansa has escaped LF, Cersei orders Ser Robert Strong to kill her (she now assumes that Sansa is the 'rival young queen' once again) and the Hound defends her, and finally gets to kill the Mountain.

Before personally being offed, UnCat gets to kill Littlefinger (especially after she learns what he did to her daughter/husband etc). She gets to tell him how she never loved him before he dies.

YG gets roasted by a Dragon...guess he didn't have enough Targ blood!

John and Dany are The Price that was Promised/Azor Ahai (really two people who are needed to fulfill the prophecy)...and Dany has to kill Dario to forge light bringer;)

Drogon has a very rich, fat meal. He burps fire from it, accidentally roasting Danaerys to death.

Tyrion gets stabbed to death when a fight between two drunken customers erupts in a brothel. He never sees it coming and can't mutter any last wit.

Jon Snow is and stays dead. The wall comes down, and the Others start offing the Nightwatch, Queen Selyse and Shireen, thus catching greyscale which works a little faster with them. They are done.

Stannis gets wasted, leads a raucous rendition of the bear and the maiden fair, and finally gets laid.

The Sand Snakes show up in King's Landing, beat down Cersei and kill FrankenGregor

UnCat finds out Sansa is alive, goes to the Vale and when LF sees what she looks like now he throws himself out the Moon Door

Starks reunite, Howland Reed explains himself and Jon finds out about his parentage

GRRM finally explains what Jaqen H'Ghar's deal is and why he's in the Citadel with Pate's face

Red Wedding - the Sequel where Manderly gets to kill lots of Freys, some by sitting on them. Jon comes down with Stannis to join the battle as does UnCat and her outlaws, Jon gets to tell her that he's not really Ned's son and she treated him like crap for no reason before someone takes her out

Jaime and Brienne survive, go to King's Landing have have a sloppy make out sesh in front of Cersei before he kills her

Ramsay and Roose suffer very slow, painful deaths

Someone invents a razor for Queen Selyse
