What do you Collect?

Rogue Knight

Recommended Posts

I think your right becca, I didn't realise that there were more prizes on offer as I had already donated at the start of the fundraiser! but now I have one yayy! do you know if the DJ is de-valued if its put on a book?

Also, my collecting consists of:

A Game of Thrones:

UK Deluxe Edition 1/1st

UK Collectors Edition

UK Reissue with White DJ (on the way :D)

A Clash of Kings:

UK Deluxe Edition 1/1st- Signed

A Storm of Swords:

UK Deluxe Edition 1/1st- Signed

UK Reissue with White DJ

A Feast for Crows:

UK Deluxe Edition 1/1st

UK Reissue with White DJ

A Dance with Dragons:

UK Deluxe Edition 1/1st

Other Books:

Rogues 2014

Legends paperback 1999 1/1st

Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister

Not a very large collection as of yet, at the end of the month ill have my hands on the sub press aDwD, aFfC and aCoK. Then I have my sights set on the US editions. Still looking for the white reprint of aCoK.

It definitely is an addiction :dunno:

It's a very nice start for sure ;) Just keep an eye out for SP Storm. Sometimes they pop up in numbers wanted thread... I can add your want there if you would like.

I've got my AFFC dust jacket proof on a book. I just like the look of it with the others. I know some have framed theirs. I don't think it makes a difference really but it's personal choice. I feel it's meant to be on a book LOL!

Thanks Becca :) I will write a message in the listed books section once I've got my hands on them! yeah I agree, it would look nice on a book next to the others, hears to hoping for the aDwD DJ, but I doubt that will ever happen! have you ever seen the Greek cover? I tried a search on google but nothing came up, supposedly Stephen Youll's cover was commissioned for Greece only according to his website.

BTW - It looks as if George has a stash of those AFFC dust jackets. You can get one if you pledge $1000 to the wolf charity

Yeah I saw that, but sadly your emoticon says it all -- indeed! And we may have bumped into each other there - I loved how small scale it was! The George and Howard (and Gardner lol) Show that Saturday night was hilarious. I love his comment about your needing security guards  -- all I had for him to sign were my Dreamsongs books :bang:

Cheers!

Yeah I was 50/50 on show Ice but with the way the Limited Editions go with Valyrian I tend to buy first question myself later lol

Good policy, they're certainly an investment, but one that seems to be paying out for anybody who does end up deciding to sell (but not me, I'll be homeless first :D )

I got the Greek edition from here:

http://www.anubis.gr/books.asp?BID=1361

http://www.anubis.gr/books.asp?BID=1412

But it's two trade paperbacks, so it's not exactly going to match the English Stephen Youll editions. And I'm not sure about the artist of the second cover.

yeah I found them not long after posting that, I just wasn't able to paste a link, I can now, stupid windows 8! anyway, yes they look nothing like the US editions but they are all in keeping with the previous Greek books. they are really nice books, but I don't know if I would get them because then I would have to buy all the rest to complete the collection and I don't know how I feel about foreign editions yet :)

Yeah same here. I didn't actually buy any of mine to sell. I even threw out my boxes for book Ice and Lonclaw when I first bought them lol.

I am currently deciding whether or not to buy the Hounds Helm. The Warhammer doesn't interest me and I have heard about quite a few quality issues.

Hanging out for Jaimes Season 1 sword and both Oathkeepers, even though show oathkeeper's blade won't be red :(

Also can't wait for Oberyn's Spear!

Yeah it's been in development for ages. Valyrian have been trying to make a red blade that GRRM approves. He doesn't want it to be paint.

They have a code for it thats been set aside for a year or so now. VS0005 I think.

That's fair enough, does that mean people can order them already? or should I say, are they sold out already?

Haven't gone up for pre order yet. Last I heard show Oathkeeper was going to be hopefully up for pre order by Sep/Oct, Jaime's sword from season 1 before that.

If you're keen on getting one make sure you follow Valyrian on FB they usually give about a weeks notice before something is released :)

The Hound's Helm is really cool. I got to try it on at Capclave. It's huge!

I too am anxiously awaiting Jaime's season 1 sword.... I won't use the word stalking, but I am certainly... "following" Valyrian's FB page, closely...

I am in love with my Hound's Helm by the way (#0008!) I highly recommend it :P Warhammer was my first, a gift from my sweet wifey so it holds a dear place for obvious reasons, but that aside I've been nothing but impressed with mine since I opened it. I'm not sure about Oberyn's spear just yet, I'll have to wait for pics to come out then decide...

But that's a definite yes to both Oathkeepers (though admittedly far more excited for the book version than the show version) also interested to see what they do with the arakh when it comes out...

Hi All!

Here is my collection. In fairness, it is more of a GRRM collection, than just ASOIAF… I started a long time ago, and was lucky to beat the curve on collecting GRRM. So, forgive the non-ASOIAF listings, but I wanted to make a complete list for my own records, and I am not doing this twice!

The (*) limited number is my number, so I try to keep that a bit secret since someone years ago gouged me since they knew my number… Sigh!

Anyhow, I am not nearly as organized as Becca (who is some sort of collecting God, from what I have seen), so forgive the disorganization!

I am always open for trade offers, as I have some duplications…

If anyone wants to see an online gallery of most of this - feel free to add me on Facebook, where I have an album of this, and some of my other nerd art collection, which involves 1980s gamebooks/RPGs. Just message me and I can send you my Facebook link.

As a side note – I have found the people on this board to be great collectors, willing to share leads and information. It is nice to see everyone working together to build great collections!

Cheers from Canada!
