Marjie Eilie Myatt Posted May 27, 2012 Share Posted May 27, 2012 I would eschew the expense of big-name actors in order to save money for battle, location, and some more scenes from the book that a lot of people insist must be cut in the interest of budget. It's all about priorities. Also, for me, personally, big-name actors sometimes distract me from the fantasy world because I'm overly conscious of them. I liked Sean Bean because he blends in well in this genre. I also love Ciaran Hinds, but he tends to "chew up the scenery" and I feel like I'm watching Ciaran Hinds.David Suchet, on the other hand, has such a vast range; sometimes I don't even recognize him.A lot of people on this thread do such a great job picking actors for various characters. It's almost depressing that I can't think of many prominent female roles though, the only ones that still come to mind are Arriane and Taena...
