Quaithe & Aegon's legitemacy.

Trouble is. As others have said. Not enough serious evidence has been presented either way. I only know about the Blackfryes from the wiki and given the sheer lack of doubt Tyrion appears to show it just seemed to me like Martin was going. Heres this guy, accept it, move on. So either doubting his legitimacy is going to be a major part of his story later on or we're just meant to take this at face value. Aside from the prophecy of mummers dragon nothing really hints at illegit. Plus what would the end goal or value be in putting Aegon in?

IMO its one of a few things

1-He is a Blackfrye, Varys representing their interests in the hope of gaining their final revenge by getting one on the Iron Throne.

2-Varys has been billed as the master of plots. Whose kept his ace in the hole secret this whole time. It would be ironic if his very secrecy back-fired because nobody would believe who Aegon is and won't side with him for this reason. This causes Aegon to be beaten or driven back like Stannis before Dany arrives.

3-So that Dany can have another horror moment at being the one to (arguably) kill another Targ in the series. Her paranoia makes her slaughter thousands of potential allies after they've secured KL and most of Westeros. I actually don't think this would be as interesting as it seems because she already saw her own brother melted and has no idea who this Aegon character did. Its also unlikely that they would actually speak to eachother which means the emotional impact wouldn't be there. It would more be like a massive blunder. Possibly appropriate to write a dark undertone to Danys return n make beating Others harder; but little else to it than that.

Ive always assumed the mummers dragon meant Varys dragon instead of fake dragon

varys being the mummer and ageon the dragon

It depends whether you take mummer's dragon to be a possesive phrase (the mummer owns the dragon) or descriptive (the dragon is fake, like a mummer's tears, which are crocodile tears).

The Martels do have blood of the Dragon though. He wasn't lying the martels are descended from Dany's namesake, princess Danearys the younger sister of King Daeron II. The marraige was arranged by King Baelor the blessed while prince Daeron was wed to the princess of Dorne. The mummer's dragon has to be Aegon, either meaning he is not really a Targ, or that he is one, but controlled by Varys the mummer, or it could mean both. Lion and dark flame and kraken and griffen all only apply to one person. No matter what Aegon or young grif is not a griffen, Lord Jon would know if he was his own son, and Quentyn is not the Mummer's dragon, he's not claiming to be an heir he's simply stating that he is a descendant from Dragons.

The thing that should be debated is who is the perfumed seneschal, is it the ship, the steward who dany thinks it means, or does it refer to Varys?
