Rewatching The Wire and I must strongly, once again suggest Clarke Peters.

After The Wire, I'm pretty sure he could pick and choose whatever he wants to do and might command an above average fee for such a small character. But Plumm has a lot of interaction with key people, namely Dany and Tyrion. They need a guy with gravitas who can pull off this mysterious character with such a ruthless view of the world.

Pretty certain there is nobody more perfect out there who can do a better job with the character. In my minds eye, Peters is Plumm for me :P I challenge any of you to convince me otherwise :P

Paterson Joseph

An image of him in full armour, from the TV adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard II/Henry IV/Henry V tetralogy The Hollow Crown

But only iff Clarke Peters isn't available! Strong acting chops, currently touring with the RSC. UK based. Has done television. Can be slightly menacing while also well-spoken. Will get a first-hand viewing of him when I go see Julius Caesar in a couple weeks.

A realistic option.

Short appearance in a scene of Julius Caesar, at the start.

Standout comedy role in the sitcom Peep Show

He's supposed to be grandfatherly with kind eyes. Not eyes that make you want to shrivel up an die just so he'll stop looking at you. I'd be too terrified he'd pull out a boxcutter.

LOL, he can be grandfatherly with kind eyes, that intensity was just him being a fantastic actor on Breaking Bad.

Pics of him looking friendly and trustworthy :D

Thought I'd chime in with my suggestion: http://en.wikipedia....i/Hugh_Quarshie

He's on some random hospital show here but was also in Star Wars: Episode 1 and Doctor Who a couple years back, so no stranger to genre pieces. Got the right look for it imo, could easily be aged up a bit if necessary and is a pretty experienced actor: http://www.ashmolean...gh_Quarshie.jpg I can definitely see it working.

Yes! :agree:

nice, even though he is not as dark as Morgan he sure can bring Brown Ben Plumm's character to life!

I was sold on the idea because he's not as dark as Morgan Freeman. I always imagined "Brown" Ben Plumm as being, more, well, leathery brown in skin tone, rather than dark African. Also, he has the advantage of having the same name... lol.

While I continue to chime on about how awesome and perfect and awesome Clarke Peters would be for the part, let me throw another The Wire veteran out there.

Reg E. Cathey. Underrated as an actor in both The Wire and The Corner. The right age, can do warm, friendly and also speak like a guy who has been there and seen it all; perfect for Plumm. Only difference here being that I do not believe he is based in the UK like Peters is so isn't quite as feasible. Yet he still does cameo appearances on television... I think he'd nail it.
