Bib Fortuna
The tricky part is that Roose is described as "a man in a pink cloak." Given that Catelyn had been talking to Roose a few minutes beforehand, I thought it was odd that Robb's killer was described that way. So it took me a few re-reads to figure out it was Roose. TheGriffonReborn
It didn't click for me until a little after. I started thinking about why he would say "Jaime Lannister sends his regards", so I started thinking about all the who have talked to Jaime recently, and finally landed on the treasonous whore named Roose Bolton. The Lord Of Castamere
The pink cloak gave it away but it took me some time before I figured it out myself
Great Winter Knight
not to mention that because of his role at RW he is now Warden of the North and gets his bastard legitmized.

Ramsay Gimp
On the one hand it's awesome that GRRM is so subtle about indicating that it is Roose, but on the other hand it sucks because I feel most readers don't realize it
bede
The line "Jaime Lannister sends his regards" did it for me. However, on re-reading the book, Bolton's treachery was hinted at during the chapter(s) where he treats with Jaime post-maiming and we learn that he sent a considerable portion of the Young Wolf's forces out to deliberately get routed at Duskendale by Randall Tarly IIRC. TalalOfDorne
His time in Harrenhal from Jaimes POV should have been a good indicator. I do not despise him though... Yeah I get you mean.
