komo Posted September 24, 2012 Share Posted September 24, 2012 Looking back at this book I notice much of the hatred is felt within families.Spoilers from A Storm of Swords onlyCeresi trys to kill Tyrion.Tyrion does kill TywinStannis Kills RenlyGreyjoys fuck eachother at every turn (literally and figuratively)Tully gets married to a Frey, and then betrayed by recent familyDany kills viserys (although justified)Littlefinger kills Lysa ("like family")Say anything you want about the Starks current situation sucking, but at least they aren't tearing at each other.thoughts? Giantsbabe Posted October 10, 2012 Share Posted October 10, 2012 I noticed this as well and at least as of the end of ASoS I found it really striking that the only big intact family seems to be the Tyrells. Of course the QoT is complaining about her son every once in a while but after all they really seem to care for each other.They might be as ambitious as the other families but they don't seem to be ready so sacrifice familiy members on their way to power.
