Bad Hound!
Not sure whether this has been raised before, but what exactly is the Isle of Faces, and what is on it?Do people live there? Are they strange? Is there some magic on the Isle of Faces? Or ancient history, linked perhaps to the First Men or even the Children of the Forest? Is there a connection with Harrenhal?I seem to remember from aCoK that Arya, Gendry, Hot Pie etc get close-ish to the Isle of Faces before they are captured by Lannister troops including the tickler. But I am not sure now, and I can't remember what's special about that island. I don't have the book anymore unfortunately.
Giantsbabe
You are right, Arya and her pack are captured on the shore of the God's Eye, the lake surrounding the Isle of Faces. The Isle of Faces is a place with at least a mythical tradition, and until the present day it is the only place there carved weirwoods can be found south of the Neck. in fact I seem to recall that legend has it that every weirwood on the isle has a carved face. As those carvings were done by the Children, the place was obviously significant to them. There's also a story of a crannogman traveling there and meeting magical entities. As far as I know there is no connection to Harrenhal except the location. Harren the Black as an Iron Man probably worshiped the Drowned God (though this is not mentioned i guess) so the weirwoods would not have had any special meaning to him.Edit: I just read a wiki article on this (http://awoiaf.wester...p/Isle_of_Faces) and I forgot to mention that the isle is the place where the peace treaty between the First Men and the Children was signed. Moreover, the Order of the Green men is supposed to live there and they are supposed to have supernatural powers, probably connected to those of the green seers.
