That's a very good analysis. My first impression of the Green Fork was that Roose, still being on Robb's side, was actually trying to surprise Tywin by marching through the night.

Roose's role in the Duskendale Disaster wasn't obvious to me until I saw a post on these forums concerning when Roose first plotted his betrayal, but even on my first read I could tell something weird was going on with the decision to march on Duskendale. It just didn't seem consistent with Robb's battlefield decisions in hindsight, since he has proven to be a very capable strategist in the field.



For instance, I think a lot of people overlook Robb's ingenious plan to deal with the ironborn. Someone that capable never would have sent Glover and Talhart to their slaughter like that, which could have been a red flag that something was up for the reader.
