The Winds of Winter Prologue

Recommended Posts

Apologies if i'm coming late to this thread and my question has already been answered.

When i heard Jeyne would be in the prologue i automatically assumed BWB attacking the column heading back to casterly rock. The question is would LS be more likely to want to protect Jeyne... or would she more likely see her as the reason her son is dead and leave her hanging from a tree...?

Given what we've seen from LS so far my money is on the latter!

This is really my top bet too.

BTW, going back to the suggestion that Tom O'Sevens could be the POV or a character in the prologue, was there any indication he joined the column back to CR? I think he said in his conversation with Jamie that he was going to, didn't he?

Now, I'm confused as well about Tom O'Sevens. Was he just passing along information ? Or is he going to be on the inside?

I think he will be inside. Jaime advised him to please his aunt Genna. Maybe Tom will sing the rat cook's song for RW 2.0 He can pass info through people like washerwomen, squires etc.

Truly don't think Stoneheart would harm Jeyne. Jeyne is completely innocent and Stoneheart hasn't killed anyone yet without evidence. Maybe Lady Seashells gets it, though.

Folks,

there is direct confirmation from GRRM that Jeyne Westerling is in the prologue of WoW.

There are lots of hopes and ideas that would certainly make interesting prologues, however if they do not include Jeyne, they are out of contention, sorry!

Would you provide the link for that confirmation?

Don't know who's perspective it will be but the fact that Jeyne will appear should turn out to be very, very interesting. I do hope to go to Highgarden, though. We've only cracked the surface of House Tyrell and

Also, if there's one character in the BWB who's POV would push the story forward and add a new interesting flare, it's Thoros of Myr. It would serve to shine a light on LSH, the inner workings of the BWB, and we'd get a deeper look into the more supernatural aspects of the religion of R'hllor. The Red Priest chapter would be amazing.

It is pretty ridicilous, everyone on this board keeps saying random characters when George already confirmed Jeyne is in the prologue like mentioned above.

Yeah, totally ridiculous that not everyone should be up to date on all of GRRM's interviews, I mean sheesh! The nerve of those people

God, I hope Jeyne isn't actually the POV itself, that poor girl has suffered enough!

Where is she at this point is the story, remind me?

We last saw Jeyne Westerling (for simplicity sake, we'll set aside the debates over whether it was actually Jeyne, or in fact her younger sister that we saw) in Jaime's POV. She was leaving Riverrun, along with Edmure and others. They were being escorted to Casterly Rock, and the men escorting them were under orders to kill Jeyne or.Edmure if any attempts were made to rescue them. Her position is tricky, to say the least.

However, I feel I should acknowledge at this point that some readers debate whether the girl Jaime saw departing from Riverrun was Jeyne or not. There is some belief that she may have fled with the Blackfish, and Jaime only saw her sister leave RR. Personally I'm not really sure what to think

I'm pretty sure it's going to be some random guard (likely will die at the end of the chapter) who is escorting Jeyne and Edmure to Casterly Rock.

I'm positive it won't be a POV of a known character like Edmure or the Blackfish. The most known character it could be imo, is a minor member of the BwBs. Or one of the Freys. Hopefully one of the Freys. :D

The info that Jeyne is in Winds prologue came out during San Deigo ComicCon. Most of the posts in this thread was before it. After that, the more active thread for Winds prologue is 'If Jeyne Westerling is in Winds of Winter prologue..'. People are free to come up with random characters, as long as these characters could be anywhere between Riverrun and Casterly Rock. Because GRRM never said Jeyne will be the viewpoint character.

My two cents are for Forley Prestor.

That's what I was thinking. But I don't want to see him die. :( He's one of my favs.

I like good old Tom too. But the singers in asoiaf are an unlucky lot.

Examples:

Those who sing the song of earth

Rhaegar

Marillion

Dareon

Symon silver tongue (the guy who went into bowl of brown)

Blue Bard

Mance

"Let me make this clear here: I didn't say she was the viewpoint character. I said she was in the prologue. It's the viewpoint character who always dies," he says. "I like to break rules. Just when I get it established what the rule is, I like to break it. So maybe the viewpoint character will die in the prologue, and maybe they won't."
