aidan
Ed Greenwood can still sign book deals because, regardless of the quality of his fiction, he sells a lot of books and makes his publisher(s) a lot of money.

Werthead
Ed Greenwood is a fucking terrible writer of fiction. There are no words to really express how appalling he is at prose. However, he is one of the very best writers of RPG materials and is very good at worldbuilding. If he wants to write novels on the side, that's fine, since no-one is forcing anyone to read them at gunpoint. I am somewhat surprised whenever anyone gives him a deal to write anything outside of the Forgotten Realms (which he created back in the 1960s), though, as his sales outside of the Realms setting appear to be fairly mediocre.
