Most Precise ASOIAF Timeline in Existence

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but why does the timeline have Catelyn leave King's Landing 17 days after she meets Ned, when Ned asked her to return to Winterfell at once ?

Because otherwise, Tyrion wouldn't have the time to travel back south in order to meet Catelyn at the Crossroads a fortnight after she left KL (and we already, IIRC, stretched the fortnight).

To synchronize with Tyrion's much longer journey to the Inn at the Crossroads from the Wall. Even better yet, check out where and when she meets Jason Mallister and when Sansa spots him at the Hand's Tourney.

So I guess lengthen the king's journey back to KL with a fortnight wasn't possible ?

The Mallisters and their small group of riders made from the Trident to King's Landing in 9 days, when Catelyn and Rodrik took 15

And when did Yoren arrive? And what did he say about how fast he got there?

Yoren arrives the day after the second day of the Tourney, so likely 3 days after the Mallisters, and he rode as fast as he could, and well ahead the other sellswords and freeriders. Could this be explained by the better quality of the Mallisters's horses ?

That would create a problem with people learning about Bran. Tyrion was still at the Wall when Jon heard, yet Ned heard about Bran after he had already seen Catelyn. And Jon would have heard sooner than Ned, most likely, looking at the travel distance.

Oh yes, there lies the big problem, thank you for pointing it out. By normal raven speed, Jon should learn two days after Bran has woken up, and Ned five or six days after. But Tyrion has not left yet when Jon learns, and Catelyn has already left when Ned learns, if she left for Winterfell at once...

Nope. It can be explained by a gap in the sspace-time continuum. Another possibility is that Jason entered King's Landing by the gate Arya used to board the Wind Witch.
