jarl the climber
Horse piss would be used to put out the camp fires.I actually have no idea but that's the only logical reason I came up with. Lol.There is some evidence that urine was used to clean out wounds, so maybe it had some medicinal purpose.
MsLibby
Urine, mostly human but I'm sure other animals would do, was often used during the medieval times for cleaning stuff, particularly armour and linen.
aFeastForDragons
It was also used for dying hair but that was more a tribal thing.
lostinwesteros
What's happening to Jaime is just unspeakable. Having his hand dangling over his shoulder, the horse piss, facing down in the mud, the threat of having his other hand cut off. And how about the pain from having one hand amputated with a dirty knife and no bandage that I could see. But so glad Brienne knew just what to do to make him at least eat. It's like Catelyn told her at Renly's death, that she had to live (and flee) in order to get revenge (and Littlefinger - or was it someone else? - telling Loras the same thing - to flee Stannis' army so that he could seek revenge later. jons nissa
as everyone has already said, the scene was brilliant and if i weren't already sympathetic to the kingslayer, i would be now. i especially loved that he tried to fight with his left hand and then brienne joined in to defend her, eh, friend. :P i think coster-waldau is doing a bang up job with this and i look forward to more of him and brienne. I thought it was mud and horse shit in some gross combination on the ground. Either way my thought when he fell was "That is going to get SO infected now"
Katydid
Honestly I really enjoy watching Jaime the child killing monster suffer.Has Jaime killed a child? I must've missed that scene. I did read the scene where he intended for Bran to die, in order to protect his own children. Does that excuse his actions? No, but it perhaps explains them. Was it twisted and wrong? Yes. Was it a man/father/lover choosing the lesser of two evils? Yes. In Jaime's mind, Bran's death would save his own children and sister from death. Not a nice choice to have to make, but he made it nonetheless. :leaving:

She could understand why Jaime would attempt to kill a child he does not know to save his own.
David Selig
Yeah, but Jaime only needed to kill Bran because he was committing high treason in just about the dumbest way possible. So no sympathy from me, he put himself in this position though recklessness and extreme selfishness. Then there's the murder of Jory and the other two Stark men, which is even worse and completely unjustifiable in my book.

mediterraneo
I actually kinda liked that Jaime has some skill with his non-fighting hand, or the wirters at least keeping open the possiblity that Jaime might be as good with that other hand after he gets a chance to recover and train, instead of almost completly useless as he became in the books.I saw this too. In the books Jaime FEELS incapable of doing the same deeds as with the right hand, but keeps practicing with Illyn PAyne for quite a number of pages. In the show, he already killed the poor Ned's guard with a left handed knife in the eye.Honestly I really enjoy watching Jaime the child killing monster suffer. He is a character in a book, but this phrase is testament to any of your classes of christian charity, David Selig. Other answered on the merit of the thing in this thread, so Ill not repeat out Jaime's fanboys mantra, as I do too often.

We only know how he's doing from his pov and compared to his right, he thinks he's awful. It would be interesting if he were actually average or something. Killing soldiers in a war isn't really murder, and I think it was pretty despicable. But that's the point. Jaime did despicable things and then later does honorable things when he realizes what sort of man he's become. The fact that some people sympathize with him and some people still despise him means he's wonderfully written and portrayed.
Lady Lu
I thought that as well! He looked a lot better than I was expecting. Credit to NCW for pulling that off as he said his left hand is basicaly useless himself. Is NCW right-handed? Gods I hope he gets a pay raise for spending the next several years doing everything with his off hand. Adding my voice to the chorus of he is the perfect Jamie. Adding my voice to the chorus of he is the perfect Jamie. If you watch this, although he's fighting mainly two handed, all the other hand-dominant things he does is right-handed, and he does hold the sword in his right. So I believe he is a righty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L8ByreRfUo

Also very nice to see Jaime in fighting form again (well, obvious repercussions for the good folks of Winterfell aside).
