[BOOK SPOILERS] “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”

It's so difficult for viewers to take a break for that long and actually remember what's going on, especially in the more "minor" storylines.

Wow, I cannot believe how much of the flaying they are actually showing us. So Theon has 9 fingers... Whoa. That was seriously intense. The "Boy" casting is brilliant. He scares me to death.

It was another excruciatingly and unnecessarily long Theon scene. It's too much time spent on stuff that happened off screen. They could cut Theon's scenes to half of what they've shown and keep a mystery of who his torturer is alive and then have the big reveal that its a Bolton.

Oh c'mon! Where are my fellow Bolton loyalists who enjoy seeing torture as much as I? This was my favorite scene this season so far :cool4:

If Ramsay Snow continues to be a major antagonist in the final 2-5 novels, these scenes would have been necessary...

Torture porn IMO

I just don't see the appeal here, but evidently others do so I won't take a dump on it.

I would prefer to leave much of this to the imagination

All five of the non-book readers I watch with each week hated Theon when the season started. They all agree he doesn't deserve what's happening to him at this point and it's only going to get worse. Alfie Allen & Iwan Rheon are both killing it in their roles - I don't get why book readers don't appreciate getting the visualization of these scenes we only read about through memories in the book

To play devils advocate, we kind of have to see this on some level. It can't just cut to Theon two seasons from now and show us that he's broken. For television we need to see what caused it. It doesn't have to happen every episode, we just need to see the start of it. And then several episodes from now they can cut to Theon and we can see how broken he has became because we'll know what's been happening to him every day for months. Personally, I really liked the scene. Not to mention Ramsay was blowing the horn to wake him up, the same horn that drove him crazy from season 2.

^ I can't get over how much he looks like a hobbit. I really liked the scene especially the part where he starts going who am I, where am I, why am I doing this. I could just feel non-book readers nodding there heads, yes why. To me that scene is a perfect example of why many book readers can't appropriately analyze the show. They just can't separate that they already know what happens and that viewing the scene is a totally different experience for show only people

This was absolutely, disgustingly perfect. Sure it's a very extreme scene, but it's a very extreme story and Ramsay is a very extreme character. Bear in mind this is undoubtedly the most evil character in the whole asoiaf universe.

More next week as well

OMG THANK YOU. Someone finally understands there is a difference between telling a story through television and through a book.

Absolute and utter perfection. Iwan Rheon was a bit of casting genius on D & D's part. He was at turns terrifying and mesmerizing. Even though I knew what was going to happen I was still on the edge of my seat. Alfie Allen was also killing it in this scene. I've never felt for a character as much as this. I feel so bad for him, especially knowing that the pain and misery is far from over.

Yes I agree. These sorts of scene have been done to death in so many other shows, there is nothing shocking about it anymore other than that its not shocking anymore. I'd have rather had Theons fate be in question for the next 2 seasons, like it was in the books. Still they need to give him some screen time to keep him around so we get stuck with this.
