Well, Orell died in the books as soon as Jon encountered the wildlings. They kept him alive to show him being a hater, because "Orell the angry bird" would be too confusing in the television medium. :dunno:

Talissa is preggers? Wow. So either she dies at the RW and ends the Jeyne is pregnant theory or she survives and confirms it. And as others have mentioned, will Robb even bother writing a will now that he knows he's got an heir?

The fact that this was GRRM's episode.

The Wise Master dude was strange. The part leading him up to Dany was odd. It seemed to go on forever and he had a weird look on his face. I won't complain too much here, because anything involving Dany is A.

Orell wanting Ygritte. Gross.

Talisa being pregnant.

Talisa's continuous ass shots.

Fucking Theon still.. ah you know!

They really screwed over Cat this season. I don't remember any lines, anything from her, other than that drawn out scene with talisa about Jon Snow. After that she gets one line per ep. She is a POV character and she's been reduced to nothing. Michelle Fairley is such a great actress and Cat is, well, opinions differ on her character, but still! They should have included her more because she becomes UnCat.

Ygritte's accent.

The fact that this book is two seasons. They should have just condensed this into one season. It would have worked, and eliminated all this filler bullshit.

If Dany wasn't in this episode ( sooooo glad she FINALLY GOT A CHANGE OF CLOTHES!!!) I seriously would have rated it a 4. But watching her be the Breaker of Shackles and Mother of Dragons, and finally seeing all three dragons on screen, is worth several points itself.

I agree, this is the only major thing that really jumped out at me. I think it's a real shame, because last episode I was really warming up to Orell and I thought the actor was doing a great job.

Some nitpicks:

Shae is an insult to feudalistic society. A whore would never speak the way she does to someone with a birth as high as Tyrion. She behaves like a uptight American woman.

Way too much nudity/raunchy talk in this episode.

I hope Theon's situation ends the debate about his, you know... Especially if GRRM wrote that scene.

I was very surprised to learn that GRRM wrote this. It's one of the worst/least faithful episodes yet.

The issue is there are more negative qualities to Tyrion then him being a dwarf, but to address those the shows writers would actually contribute some greater depth to the character rather then more whitewash.

I really like Oona Chaplan's bare body. I don't see the point of making her a spy (for the Lannisters?) Unlike Jeyne, it looks like Talisa will be a guest at the Red Wedding.

When the wildlings went past the stone windmill, I wondered it that was going to be the TV show's version of Queenscrown. Not so. I liked the scenes between Jon and Ygritte. Harington wasn't as big a dud as usual.

GRRM gave Osha a good speech. Not surprising, as he has publicly praised her performance, and perhaps wanted to give her something interesting to say.

Another interlude of torture porn with Theon. Yes, Theon's later actions have to be set up, but do we really have to have our faces rubbed in this EVERY week? I know that there are some viewers who just love this stuff. I'm not one of them. Luckily, I was watching on HBOGO, and could flip through most of this scene.

The dragons are much bigger and more menacing. They did a good job integrating them in with the actors.

As always, I really liked the Jaime-Brienne interaction, though I felt the bear scene wasn't fully realized. It must have been difficult to film. I read somewhere that some of it had to be reshot later. I was hoping that Jaime would find a way to toss Locke into the pit to give the bear some supper.

TV Shae is very tiresome. I don't remember book Shae being this big a pain. Also, Sansa still has a lot of growing up to do. Is Peter Dinklage the only actor to be in every episode this year?

Overall a good episode, though definitely not one of the best of this season.

And of course, she was lying about him being attractive, what she was going to say, "he's nice and good to you, but good luck looking at his face every single day of your life until one of you both dies"?. The rest was true, though.

I'm on the admin's boat here. It really doesn't matter who wrote it, George is an employee when he is writing for the episodes, he writes what he is told to write and makes the changes he is told to make.

I will never understand what was the point of changing Jeyne Westerling with some chick from Essos, it makes matters way more complicated.

1. Gendry's mystery being revealed when it hasn't been made known to him in the books yet.

2. Melisandre's mystery being revealed when it hasn't been made known to him in the books yet.

3. Melisandre taking Gendry by Blackwater Rush when they should have just taken the Trident out to the Narrow Sea back down to Dragonstone.

4. The raunchy softcore porn scene with Theon, yes we know it would turn out to be his, "unnecessary parts" removed. The scene was about 5 minutes in a less than 60 minute episode, too long. But GRRM probably liked the hot nude models getting freaky.

5. The models for Ramsay? Ramsay has hotties working for him? In the books Ramsay nukes hotties he doesn't have them being part of his sick and twisted game.

6. Madge Tyrell giving sex advice to Sansa when the Tyrells disappeared in the book. Seem like Sansa is preparing herself for her wedding day and wedding night, I bet they even show Sansa getting busy with Tyrion. D and D have gone far and they ain't coming back.

I think it is a wasted episode, but they had to pace things out for the RW and , "Mhysa."

Getting REALLY tired of only seeing Drogon. The other 2 had 5 seconds of screentime and then Drogon gets all the attention again.

Is he the only dragon they have detailed models of or something?

Wish they'd give the other 2 some attention for a change. They're going to need some filler for Dany soon so I hope they'll suck up the budget and give dany some scenes with her other dragons cuz drogon needs to stop attention whoring.
