TomBadgerlock
Did anyone else feel like this scene should have been a lot better, or at least more memorable? Her being captured by the Hound is a fairly important plot point, after all, and has been more or less forgotten by most of the reviews I have so far read, and I had almost forgotten about it myself until just now.Not to mention the Brotherhood has just been lounging about in that cave for about four episodes! And Arya's conversation with them could have happened in any one of the previous episodes.
Qhorin Fivehands
I understand what you mean, but in the books it also wasn't an incredibly long scene. I think all they needed to do was show that the hound got her.

Lord Barristan
They should have kept in the "Do you know what Dogs do to Wolves?" Line. I know its not technically from that scene, as Arya only thinks it, but I'd have loved to hear it.
Greywolf2375
I thought this was fine. what you pointed out - the timeline - does make it a little questionable, but how the actual having him catch her was fine. I hope they don't shortchange their relationship on the way to the Twins - which we do see a preview of - since that was a great exchange.
'96Buck
It seemed like exactly what I expected it to be.
Elba the Intoner
I agree with the OP. This was a bit underwhelming because, while the actual capture was quick in the book, there is a whole scene that happens just before he captures Arya where the Hounds lets loose on the Brotherhood as being hypocrites and no different from him, etc. and he has some great lines. Here the Hound just grabs Arya and barely says anything and they cut that scene where he tears into the BwB. Though I am glad Rory has been let loose a bit more this season and is doing a great job, once again they are cutting some of his better lines, like "This cave is dark but I'm the terror here." At least I hope they don't give any more of his best lines to Littlefinger like they did last season, for ex. "Take a look around you, they're all liars here and every one better than you." TheGreatGlover
From what i remember (its been a while) but in the book he catches her at the very end of her POV chapter...i saw nothing wrong with how it was in the show
Mulled Wino
No complaints here. It wasn't a huge event anyway. Point is, it was realistic enough and now we can get on to the good stuff. I can't wait for the Hound/Arya scenes.
Caro99
It's sad that we are only getting episode 8 to cover all the cool scenes that happen between arya nd Sandor. I hope it's cause they've pushed back their storyline to s4 at this point. It's so amazing to read the way arya Changes her opinion of him and the lessons he teaches her about the gift of mercy and his mentions of Sansa can't be dropped HBO!! Daenerys Must Die
Already expecting it kind of removes some of the on-screen aspects in terms of the surprise, which in turn can detract from the effectiveness of the scene.. it was a bit rushed between Arya leaving the cave and getting captured - hopefully they have some good dialogue next week (which looks promising from the sneak peak) Hopefully it's mentioned by Sandor that he was searching them out to get his gold back or something otherwise it'd just be kind of cliche for Arya to be picked up 100-yards from the BwB cave which no one is even supposed to know the location of aside from those in it. lostinwesteros
I SO agree with the OP, and also with boojam in #3 above -- Arya and the Hound are two of my favorite characters, and I think they've been shortchanged this season. Too much focus on BWB in the cave (that action at this point in the books was short and to the point) and I also hate how they've magnified the character of Thoros (plus changed his character drastically, and for the worse, IMO). JMJ
This is slightly off topic, but did anyone else think Arya's response to Beric about her god being Death as a bit of a heavy-handed and too obvious a foreshadowing of her FM time?

It would have been different if she had killed the guards to escape Harrenhall... oh, well :frown5:

It is frying pan to the face style foreshadowing, but I think in the end it's fitting. Not necessary, because there is a lot to add to the evidence for Arya's disconnection to the world she knows. However, i did enjoy it. I more saw it as a fan-girl moment that I got to giggle about knowing her future in the books.

Ahead
I think it was weird that Sandor chilled right outside the BwBs cavern for god knows how long, just to catch Arya in the right moment. Seemed a little forced.
juanml82
Nah, they let him without gold and he knew they were ransoming Arya, and he needed money. He probably expected to shadow them once they took Arya and get her by night or something, but the opportunity presented itself.
