Arya and Bolton Prediction for WoW

Arya kiddin'

Recommended Posts

Also possible but i think its not likely IMO, but either way she could very well be out of Braavos by the time Massey and co get there, making the chances of her return to the North so soon slim

We know that the FM know she is Arya Stark. We know that the white in the House of Black and White is weirwood. We know that the FM originated in Valyria in the mines where dragons were found. We know the FM engage in Blood Magic. We know Blood Magic is associated with Dragons per Daenerys and possibly the COF and Bran. There may be a connection between the FM and the COF. If so, I think they will want Arya back in Westeros as fast as possible to fulfill whatever role they have for her to play.

Theres a fair amount of speculation in your post, but regardless, i said her return to the NORTH won't happen so soon, as was the point of the original post/theory

Arya could be sent to KL by the Iron Bank to collect a debt the crown owes. 1 name on her list is Cersei, and imo her first target. Once there she settles the score, bodies dropping day and night and poof!, she's gone, looking for Nymeria off on her own mission. As for Bolton, I think he and his men will be caught unawares, the enemy has found a way in..or, the Northmen and Stannis annihilate the Freys, while Manderly holds back. They return to east gate, at which time the liberators pour in, right behind Manderlys host. Maybe they will dress in dead Bolton or Frey armor, fly their sigil, the ruse takes them by surprise. I can only hope Ramsey, all the Freys, and Roose meet a horrible end. I do hope Rickon returns, to keep the male line alive. Anything more would be a bonus.

I was remembering Rickon's rescue by Davos as having already happened, granted this egg has yet to hatch a chicken. That said, once rescued I don't think Manderly would leave Rickon's safety to chance. It still might fail, but it won't be from lack of Wyman trying. I like the crafty old bag of pudding. He and Doran Martell should get together for wine and a game of Cyvasse.

BTW, what are the odds there is a skinchanger on Skagos already giving Rickon a brief apprenticeship in warging? Maybe Osha went there for a reason, y'know. Most folks are kind of freaked by wargs, the reputation of Skagos could largely be bad press if there are a disproportionate number of wargs there. Just speculating.

When does Massey leave for Braavos? Is it after Jon is "killed"? That would get Arya moving, the other thing that might get her moving is the Mountain's men who are escorting Harys Swift to Braavos. That won't necessarily get her back to Braavos but they will bring fresh news about Tywin and Kevan being dead, Jaime missing. Arya's list is getting shorter and she'd better get moving if she wants to take out more than the Tickler.

I think to a degree that's already happened, sort of. The last Arya chapter in DwD was from the POV of "The Ugly Little Girl." Rereading the book right now, and I seem to remember her already looking on Arya Stark as being a distant memory. I think this is something she'll come back from, but if she goes through a whole book without Nymeria dreams, without her death prayer, without Needle, I'd start to think she was too far gone. I don't expect her to do any of the three, I'll be sad if she does, but so long as she has those three things I think she can come back to something resembling her former self.

Mark my words before the song of ice and fire is fully sung you will know the magic of Roose Bolton.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised!

We have seen that the Faceless Men have a room under their temple where they hang faces (taken from their former victims) on the walls to 'put on' at need.

We also know that the Boltons have a room under their fortress where they hang skins which they have taken from their former victims.

We know that the greatest house in the North - Starks - has magic (warging). Is it so unlikely that the 2nd-greatest house of the North has magic also? And if it does: Is it so unlikely that magic has something to do with their age-old habit (skinning)?

IMO, the earliest Arya could possibly make it back to Westeros is by the very end of WoW. I dont see her abandoning her training and she has a ways to go yet to finish it. No way GRRM is going to have the FM send a mere trainee, a very young one at that, to a different country on a mission. Not going to happen

The Boltons are going to have some set backs in WoW. Ramsay will die, quite horribly, by the end, Roose's army will fall apart and by the end of the series their house will be brought low.

I agree that the FM would not send a mere trainee on a mission, but I cannot see her staying in Essos much longer. I just don't think it moves the story along. She needs to get back to Westeros, one way or another. I have seen some disturbing predictions as to how that may happen, some supernatural, some natural. Putting the supernatural aside for the moment, I do see where the FM would send her to Westeros, not on a mission but for further training. 1) How many FM are Westerosi? I doubt many if any. It would benefit them to have a Westerosi operating in Westeros so where better to further train her than with Mr. Z in Westeros? 2) I do not think the FM see Arya as a mere trainee. They know more than they are letting on. I believe they know the part she is about to play in the major conflict ahead with the Others and will want to get her to where the action is. So that is why I think her time in Essos is at an end. Winter is Coming and the Starks are Kings of Winter.

I expect Arya to be sent on an assassination in Westeros closer to the half way point, or earlier, in tWoW. I expect it to will be someone major. Who it will be, who made the contract, and whether Arya will go through with it (depends on who it is), I can't even begin to guess. There's so many possibilities.

Under contract from the iron Bank, Ser Harys Swift, in the Green Room, with the candle holder.

Okay, we REALLY need a GoT edition of Clue. . .

Of course there's my own pet theory that Arya ditches the faceless men and works for Varys for most of the remaining books. In which case she goes after pretty much anyone Varys figures is a lynchpin in Aegon's way, and in return she gets to thumb wrestle Tyrion for the pleasure of killing Cercei.

  • 2 weeks later...

But who was the assassin that killed Pate in the prologue to feast for crows? his killing had Araya's m/o with the coin and all....and at the very last chapter....Sam's chapter.....Pate is the last person he meets....someone he didn't like very much.....so obviously it was a faceless man that killed Pate for the Acolyte's key to the Citadel.....

most people agree that it was Jaqen Higar

Arya is still a young girl and in training and this would be something that I would believe would take years and years to train in so I can't see her being contracted to do some job as large as this.

The way I see her getting back to westoros is maybe if she abandons her training and slips back someway.
