[BOOK SPOILERS] Nitpick without repercussion.

Just loading it up! :)

Typical guidelines for this thread:

It's not a place to argue, it's a place for people to vent about anything they want in the show; no nitpick is too big or too small. It's kind of rude to come on here and chastise people for their rants since this thread is supposed to be somewhat of a safe haven. There is also a "positive nitpicking" thread and almost every other thread is filled with debate.

Also, making derogatory comments toward actors, creators, etc. (ie., "she is SO ugly" or "I want this writer to die") are against board rules.

Sam kills a White Walker and LEAVES THE BLADE IN THE SNOW?!?!

Daario is just so miscast -- and making him come over BEFORE she sets in motion her own plan to take out the sellswords is going to make her look so much less badass than in the books. Whereas before she was going to win due to cunning, now she is going to win because she was pretty enough to sway Daario to come to her side.

I thought wildlings didn't name their children until they were two years old? What was all that naming business between Sam and Gilly

Best thing in the episode (IMO) was the slight nod to Clifford Geertz with the wink/blink dialoge (yay for thick description!)

These aren't necessarily COMPLAINTS, just some of the even small differences I noticed.

The Hound seems much nicer than in the books. He didn't say "bloody wedding."

Stannis is getting the Littlefinger maniacal laugh. Is that rubbing off on everyone?

I thought it was weird how Tywin just walked over to Tyrion during the feast and starts talking about his duty to consummate.

What was the point of the Cersei and Loras scene?

The Sansa/Tyrion scene was way over simplified. Didn't like the Sansa smile.

No witness for Sam the Slayer.

No Robb or Cat, obviously.

I don't like Daario's casting.

I don't think it's a nitpick more than an egregious foul, but SANSA KNEELING RUINED THE SCENE. She needed that strong anti-Lannister showing. I guess the fanbase that's already anti-Sansa would have despised her more for screwing over the whitewashed showTyrion, but that's one of the single best things she does in the entire series, taken away.

No Robb and Cat. (Not surprising though.)

I'm not sure about Daario.

I'm not sure how I felt about the Sansa undressing scene. But I doubt they could have really done it much better.

I was a little upset Tywin didn't threaten Tyrion like in the books where saying he could never sleep with another whore or else the whore would be killed.

Yes! I forgot this. I really wanted her to not kneel. But people would probably hate her more if she did. Ugh.

God forbid any sympathetic character actually doesn't worship Tyrion. They even have Margaery singing praises about Tyrion's handsome-ness *gags*

No, her best scene is the snow castle. I hope they don't have her kneel on top of it, though.

He did...

in the first episode of the season.

Sansa kneeling. I think it was the first moment I became a book purist. I threw something at the screen.

I literally had to walk away from the TV.

I've never done that, but that small gesture said so much in the books. To not include it cheapens her storyline and her (still strong) bitterness over being held hostage.

The whole Arya and the Hound scene felt off to me. They're just going along riding over hills and he's like "What you didn't know? Yeah your uncle is getting married it's all everyone is talking about!" I guess I don't know what I expected from them. Also, a really small nitpick that isn't even much of a nitpick, but since they gave the dialouge between Salladhor Saan and Davos to Stannis and Davos, we missed out on "Oh Stannis isn't a kinslayer? Renly will be pleased!" Funniest line in the books imo.

I didn't like the kneeling either, but they sort of backed themselves into a corner by making Tyrion so perfect.

Oh, and I didn't like the Dragonstone porno. I'm so glad my mother and I watch this separately.

I was puzzled by Tywin trolling Tyrion about consummating right in the middle of the wedding feast. Also with Olenna trolling Loras.

He did...

in the first episode of the season.

I seriously doubt most people remember that. What I mean is how it's made super clear in the books that he can only have sex with Sansa now because she's his wife. But eh they did mention it once I just thought it would have been better this episode.

I reallllyy was hoping they would at least briefly reintroduce Tommen. There was definitely a chance there. Only had to be a few seconds. He's going to be king next season, damnit.

This season lacks character development of Northern Bannermen and Riverlords. Since TV audience didnt get enough time to bond with those characters, I doubt if they would be as shocked and devastated as we were when the RW happens next week.

The CGI was usually excellent on the show but gods that sword shattering and Other busting was ugly.

Sorry, but that was one ugly White Walker :ack:
