[Book Spoilers] Sansa and Tyrion

That "naive and immature" fantasy involved her being active in trying to escape much earlier than the book version, the result being that she's been rendered almost totally passive in the narrative.

Well, the only reason she was trying to escape much earlier in the book version is that the opportunity was presented to her much earlier in ACOK. In the show, she only got her first offer of escape in 2x09--which she quite sensibly declined--and her first offer of escape from Littlefinger in 2x10. It's a time delay, nothing more. And remember that in 3x01, Sansa was the one who reminded Littlefinger of his previous promise to aid her. She wasn't just trotting off to the godswood on a mysterious note and following instructions; she's independently on her own initiative broaching a treasonous subject with Littlefinger, with her handmaiden and Littlefinger's assistant barely out of earshot. I suppose if she were being really "active," she would have sought out Littlefinger in the show without waiting for him to come to her, but if anything, it's even more active than in the books. Really, though, as I've said, if you took Book Sansa and put her in TV Sansa's circumstances, you'd probably get the same actions.
