[BOOK SPOILERS] Episode 9 Preview

Recommended Posts

From my memory, she gave a wagon full of wine over to the Second Sons, lead by Mero. As they were stinking drunk, she sent her army to take the city by force. A battle was fought, with the aid of the Stormcrows, and it was a resounding victory.

They didn't take it, they got one set of merc drunk, the others joined them and they killed the soldiers outside the walls, then the city sent out their slaves to appease Dany but she didn't sack it properly

PW in E2 next season is as good as confirmed for me. GRRM has written that episode and back when people were bitching about him not writing the RW for the show, I think he even said something like: No thanks, once was enough for that one. But maybe I get to write the other big one, if you know what I mean *GRRM trollface*.

It definitely looks like its aligned for Coldhands to finally appear in ep9. It is a big moment and fits with their episode 9 narratives. The shot of Bran's group without Rickon/Osha running into a man with a black cloak convinced me it has to happen.

Where was this shot? If you are talking about the shot I think you are, that is unlikely to be Coldhands. I think it is just Sam, and it would be from episode 10.

It is Sam but it's clearly at the Nightfort and of him coming up from the well to meet up with Bran. If that's happening in the finale, then logic dictates that Sam has to meet up with Coldhands prior to that since I cannot think of a great reason he would just casually run into Bran with no good reason. The whole point of that scene in the Nightfort is for Sam to convince Bran that there is someone there to escort him to the Three Eyed Raven and that he's been sent as the person to retrieve him.

Further, since you know that Sam will be appearing in that scene in the finale (since Bran is at Queenscrown in E9, not the Nightfort) and you know from the "Previously on" recap that Sam and Gilly are set to appear in E9, the question is what the hell are we checking in with Sam for in E9 if not for him to meet Coldhands? If nothing consequential was going to happen to him between here and the Nightfort, then you would simply limit his scenes to the finale and not put unnecessary filler in a very important E9 episode that appears to have many of the other stories jettisoned to make room for the big stuff.

I've been literally pimping this episode to all of my book-reading and non-book reading people. This is the episode that the geeks have been waiting for, three years now. I'm worried that they haven't built up Robb quite enough, but in the end, it will still make you want to put vanilla ice cream all over your chest and let it melt down onto your genitals. Queenscrown will separate the pretenders from the contenders, 'cuz some of them won't get it, and the RW will make women weep, men will gnash their teeth into mere bloody stubs, and political establishments will crumble. Hopefully, we get one scene with My Girl, Brienne of Tarth. Can you tell I'm drunk and impatient? Good. Oh, and if you think I'm a stinky poop face now, wait til next season when My Boy, The Red Viper, dances a hefty number with The Mountain. The horror....the horror...

Okay, I have a theory: I think Bran will be warging into Hodor this episode. I don't think the show will have much direwolf warging unfortunately.

Why on earth not? Why introduce the concept of Bran's wolf dreams and then not go through with them?

That's a completely unprecedented theory. The preview, the synopsis and the recap all clearly indicate Queenscrown and Bran saving Jon.

I've been trying not to play up this episode to my unsullied friends, and instead I've been telling them about the battle in Yunkai and concerning Dany's storyline. There was actually one of my douchebag friends last night who kept saying "Robb's going to die, Joffery's going to die, Tywin is going to die etc." Then when my innocent friends who look completely devastated ask me if there's any merit to this, I'm put in a terrible position because I'm the only who has read all the books. If I tell them Yes, which is the truth, well I'm ruining it for them, if I tell them No, then well...you get idea. So, my response is, "I can GUARANTEE Robb is not going to die." I mean...what am I supposed to do? It's infuriating really. So the Dbag friend starts saying, "Well this girl who read all the books told me this is what happens. Are you calling her a liar?" I had to keep a straight face and look them in the eyes and reply, "Yeah, she's just messing with you man." I don't know if I handled that well or not, I think I did. But, I just keep telling them to read the books. I'm sure everyone here has encountered this. It's terrible. I learned about Ned's fate before it happened, and I felt it kind of spoiled GoT for me.

EDIT: :tantrum:

Well, this friend is definitly a douchebag ! Spoiling stuff for everybody !

In any case, best thing to do when asked this kind of question is lie... blatantly ! ^^

I never had to cause every one around me never ask me anything (I'm glad they do), though.

In my opinion, the best policy is silence in such a situation. Refuse to say yes or no and let them decide who to believe.

If this person is such a douchebag, why are they your friend...?
