_KHALeesi
I think the scene was great how it was. I think it would have looked weird to see Cat maim herself on camera.
Conchobar
Everything else was operatic, so why they pulled away to a catatonic Catelyn, I do not know. I didn't care for it at all.I disagree, the way her face changed, was amazing. it said everything. She had lost everything.
Macknsweetjones
People want to see a mutilated face for stone heart. I mean it could still happen...I mean her face can show decaying and also they can have a scene where her face gets picked at by crows...just a thought
MarieAntoinette
I think that Michelle Fairley did a great job in this episode. I thought that the silence was quite effective.
Gemma
I'm glad they left the face shredding out. It would have been too gruesome and I think the catatonic state she was left in worked better onscreen and mirrored how stunned the audience must have felt to witness such utter desolation. It was gut-wrenching to witness Cat trying desperately to barter for Robb's life only to see him brutally cut down in front of her. Her scream and the way her face changes after and all the life seems to go out of her even before her throat is cut...Michelle did a tremendous job with the scene. Juli Greyjoy
Loved it. I missed "Ned loves my hair" but it didn't really matter.
greywindsrage
I'm glad there was no face-shredding, and unlike the previous posters, I thought her reaction was PERFECT. It was the picture of utter and complete desolation. Her world was shattered and in that moment she was nothing but a void of despair.Exactly. Michelle Fairly nailed it. greywindsrage
The last scream was haunting. It felt like her soul left her body and what was left was just an empty shell. Left me speechless and I knew what was coming.
Javi Marcos
I loved the catarsis. I think it's far more "realistic"the catarsis than the face-shredding
Castel
Everything else was operatic, so why they pulled away to a catatonic Catelyn, I do not know. I didn't care for it at all.Yeah, strange . But I think that it worked better than the bizarre thing with her hair which wouldn't sound right coming out. But then, that's not saying much. Was also surprised by Robb's own pseudo-catatonia. And with him I'm not really sure if it was a deliberate decision or weak acting or a deliberate decision let down by weak acting.
Lebron James
I understand people don't like change, but how can anyone not have been moved by that? She died before her throat had been cut
Castel
I was moved. It was just a surprising way to go with it I think. Some people love the change, others didn't. YMMV.
Holdfast
I thought it was just right. I was expecting the face-shredding, but I thought her final silent and frozen state had more of an impact in conveying the end of that great Stark journey. Hatbarlives
I wanted the face shredding but now I am glad they didn't. It was just perfect how Michelle acted that out and the scream she did was so haunting. I can't get that last look on her face out of my head. Poor cat. Ravi Seaworth
Her face of despair when begging Walder Frey to release Robb was the epic moment of this episode. That was when I became depressed about the whole scene. People were afraid Fairley would not make justice to it, but apparently she is a great actress. Valandui
Michelle Fairley was amazing as always. Her face pretty much said it all, and I never expected the face shredding anyway (that would've either been expensive CGI or make up that looked unconvincing), so it worked for me. That said, I still would've preferred mad Cat before the throat slit, but I didn't mind too much.I agree. I think they avoided it for the same reason as they did Tyrion's missing nose. It probably would have been too hard to keep up.

GoldenFleece
First watch I didn't like Cat's reaction at the end. Second rewatch though, I really like it. Probably more realistic, although luckily I cannot tell from experience.
Boi
Raking her nails over her face everytime she shouted a dead son or kin, self multialtion. If the Birds couldn't do that magic. Great episode
Tori Targaryen
The scene was done perfectly. I really wish people would stop nitpicking. They adapted from one medium to another realistically. It was excellent
