Westeros
Via James Hibberd over at EW, the first major casting of season 4 of Game of Thrones has been revealed: Prince Oberyn Martell will be played by Chilean actor Pedro Pascal. From the article, here’s Benioff and Weiss on the casting: “This was a tough one,†say showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss about the casting. “The Red Viper is sexy and charming, yet believably dangerous; intensely likable, yet driven by hate. The boys love him, the girls love him, and he loves them all back. Unless your last name is Lannister. We found a fellow who can handle the job description and make it seem effortless. He wasn’t easy to find and he won’t be easy to stop.†Visit the Site!

Littlefingers In The Air
I really thought Oded Fehr would get the nod. Not a bad choice though.
fireandbl00d
As do I, I think he fits Oberyn's description pretty well and with a little hair and make-up will look damn near perfect! I've seen a lot of people upset with this choice though.
WinterKing
It's not how I imagined the awesomeness of the Red Viper, but I am withholding judgment till I see his acting.
Gertrude
I'm not familiar with his work, but i like his look. In that pic I can see the charm and the danger.
Nimm
Ditto. Especially with costume and makeup, I think he'll look the part very well.
Blackheart
Wouldn't want to take on this role. No pressure at all to this guy haha! I'm sure he'll do a fine job if they have cast him. Thus far, other than perhaps Stannis, the casting team have done a magnificent job.
rystine
I don't ever recall seeing him in anything. But he has the look, I'm on board for now.
Vicious Fire
I've never seen him before, he's too light-skinned for my taste but I'll give him a chance.I'll trust D&D on this one, I can't wait until we see him wearing the whole wardrove.
Clariana
Yay, here's what I've been able to find: http://www.iamthatgirlmovie.com/blog/?tag=pedro-pascalHappy they're going Hispanic on Dorn's ass!
fireandbl00d
Yeah, think we'll have to wait and see his acting ability but I'm hopeful.
ckal
I think he looks great. The biggest hurdle is hoping that DnD (and the other writers) actually write and portray the character the way he is in the book. Which as we know...is certainly a crap shoot. If they ruin one of the best characters in the series I'll never forgive them. And before anyone comes in here saying "he's not middle eastern" or "he's not dark enough", just stop right there. GRRM has stated Dorne is inspired largely by Spain.
Honourable Ser
Doubtless, many people are going to say that he doesn't look right for the part, that a more Arabic looking actor should have been hired perhaps! Personally, I think he'll look great with a bit of make-up and perhaps a dodgy wig to go with it! And to anybody who starts panicking about the casting, remember that there were people on Winteriscoming.net who thought Maisie Williams was a bad choice!! Anyway, can't wait to see Pedro Pascal in action, I'm sure he'll be excellent.

Clariana
He looks pretty much as I imagined the character. Slightly worn but not unpersonable, wiry but energetic, niiiiiice eyes... and Hispanic.
bobbybuilderton
no idea what this is for but I found it hilarious. If it was supposed to be, I cannot say. http://vimeo.com/18945174
