Night'sQueen
Is anyone going to Santa Fe for the opening of GRRM's theatre? I'm thinking about driving down there. George mentions goodies like autographed copies of books and other stuff (?) for sale at the theatre on his notablog.
Parris
we had a great crowd last night at the opening, virtually full for every showing. The new screen, projector and sound system performed as expected, and it was so much fun to see FORBIDDEN PLANET on a real movie screen. George has set up a 'book store' at the theater. There's copies of many titles available for sale. When we have writers in to do readings, we'll be selling copies of their books as well.Other merch, including a t-shirt with the new theater logo created by Raya Golden will be coming in the next few months.there's still tickets for many of the FREE showings of all the movies listed at the web site:http://www.jeancocteaucinema.comfor the next 6 days. The ticket is free but ya gotta pay for the excellent buttered popcorn. The web site will also list the many other events we will be holding at the theater, so check in at the theater web site often; we'll have some really nifty special events this fall that are so damn cool we expect that people will get in the car and drive long distances to be part of these events. Tickets will go fast for some of these special events, and you'll be having a sad if you miss them.We can't be at every show, but will be dropping by to say hi and greet the crowds when we can. We've got a great staff, people who love movies and the arts, people who are writers and actors, people who work on film festivals, all sorts of people and you won't be bored if you take the time to talk to the people who are working at the Cocteau. So come on up to Santa Fe and enjoy a good movie and a great theater sometime, we'd love to have you visit. Parris
the local weekly paper has put up a post about opening night. The pictures of Altaira and Commander J J Adams don't do them justice, but if you're coming to WorldCon, we're hoping we can convince them to wear the costumes one night and go party-hopping.http://www.sfreporte...-things-at.html
