What color is arbor wine? Red? or purple?

Most people believe "Arbor gold" to indicate that it's white wine, especially as it's often contrasted with Dornish red, but I've seen this question posed before, and it's not noted explicitly. Note that "gold" is not capitalized, so it's probably not just a brand.

There is this quote in ADWD where Tyrion drinks arbor wine....and it's purple color. I always thought arbor was red.

In the end, Tyrion chose a cask of strongwine marked as the private stock of Lord Runceford Redwyne, the grandfather of the present Lord of the Arbor. The taste of it was languorous and heady on the tongue, the color a purple so dark that it looked almost black in the dim-lit cellar.

Dark red wine is often purple and is still called "red wine". The mirror of "white wine" really not being all that white. I assume that on the Arbor, different sort of grapes are grown, leading to many different colours, but even the same sort of wine can have different colours. Purplish wines are usually younger, while more mature red wines turn a brownish red.

What's the "this" Stannis is referring to?

His wise counsel and Stannis's wish tha he serve as Hand, no?

Yes, IIRC, many of the King's advisors were pressing him to assault a lightly garrisoned Isle which was loyal until the Blackwater, and Davos is the only one who speaks against it.

How many months older is Aegon (the true Aegon :P) compared to Jon?

Rhaegar's first son was about a year old when Gregor dashed his head against a wall. Ned traveled to Storm's End then to Summerhall where he found his sister dying from giving birth to Rhaegar's second son. So I'd guess 12-15 months.

Ok thanks. I asked coz I was wonderin' if Rhaegar ran off with Lyanna immediately after Elia gave birth to Aegon or waited a few more months after his wife's recovery.

Barristan told Dany that the maesters told Rhaegar that Elia couldn't have anymore kids.I don't think we have any more info.

BIG D&E SPOILER

Maynard Plumm is in reality Bloodraven, so no, that one ain't a Blackfyre. :)

What about Brown Ben Plumm? Could he be related? Or is it another Targaryen branch?

I just read a theory (on the wiki) that Ossifer Plumm who is an ancestor of Brown Ben Plumm, was married to Elaena Targaryen (fan speculation).

I'm a little curious about how fans/they arrived at this conclusion.

Brown Ben says his ancestor was married to a Targ princess when a certain Aegon ruled.

I wanted to know if D&E fans had anymore knowledge about the Plumms, because there isn't much about them in ASOIAF.

Speaking of Arbor wine, here's a nifty bit of info.

Whenever you read about Arbor gold in the series, you should be on the lookout for deception going on in the scene.

Whenever you read about Arbor red, there's poison involved.

How interesting...I'll remember that!

Maynard is the only one I'm sure about, the other Plumms mentioned are probably related to the "sweet" Plumms that Maynard mentions when Egg asks if he is kin to Lord Viserys Plumm. Check Brown Ben's Wiki Page
