Lady Gwynhyfvar
I'm sure the wiki has something. I was surprised to learn that there were 400ish in the seven kingdoms alone. With numbers like that you'd think Tywin would have been able to buy one.off the top of my head:-Lady Forlorn-Dark Sister-Blackfyre-Ice-Nightfall-Brightroar-Longclaw-Some dude's Valyrian Steel akrah.Edit: how could I forget Heartsbane.Don't forget the catspaw dagger... Morienthar
but not shields or armors.... Is there a why?For one thing folded steel armor didn't exist in the Medieval period either,The Steel used to make Armor and Swords are completely different. The maximum apparel you could make out of Sword Steel is probably a Mask of some sort. Renots
Is it ever mentioned why Mel doesn't have the facial tattoos the other slave priests such as Moqorro have? Difference in culture, since she was from Ashai?
Mrs.Grumpy
Is it ever mentioned why Mel doesn't have the facial tattoos the other slave priests such as Moqorro have? Difference in culture, since she was from Ashai? She's not an Asshai'i. And we don't even know if there's slavery in Asshai. We think that she was a slave from Volantis and send to Asshai for training, and hides her age/true apperance/tattoes with glamor.

But I don't understand why she would be sent to Asshai for "training" when none of the other priests seem to have been(granted it never says they weren't). I don't see the sense in buying a slave to send her half way around the continent to learn something she could learn in Volantis. Maybe I'm missing something. Keep Calm and Imp On
Sorry is this has been mentioned before, buuuuuuut...I've heard different pronunciations for Ayra: I always say "eye-ruh" in my head when I'm reading. Is there any standard pronunciation?
Roadside Rose
Varys gave him a shrewd look. “My little birds tell me that Princess Elia cried a... certain name... when they came for her.”“Is a secret still a secret if everyone knows it?” In Casterly Rock, it was common knowledge that Gregor Clegane had killed Elia and her babe. They said he had raped the princess with her son’s blood and brains still on his hands.“This secret is your lord father’s sworn man.”Tyrion thinks Varys is talking about Gregor Clegane. But I think Varys means someone else.Any idea who this 'sworn man' of Tywin is?

rmholt
I know this has been asked but I cant find the answer - I did search.Rereading Jaime and the bearpit - where in the sequence of things did he lose his dagger and sword on the way to the bear pit? I would think he would want all his stuff on when approaching Harrenhal and he and his escort were admitted as allies. No one was made to surrender, say, crossbows. It's breaking my head.Granted he might not want to show that he couldnt use a sword or dagger but 1) he wouldnt put that above saving Brienne and 2) he could have given her either one.TIA

yolkboy
Is it ever mentioned why Mel doesn't have the facial tattoos the other slave priests such as Moqorro have? Difference in culture, since she was from Ashai?Well she's very probably glamoring her appearance with that ruby around her neck. There is a big hint she does have facial tattoos.“Melony,” she heard a woman cry. A man’s voice called, “Lot Seven.” She was weeping, and her tears were flame. This is from her earlier life. Flaming tears could be the tattoos of prostitutes at the Red Temple. Tears are the tats for prostitutes, flames for slaves of R'hllor.

Roose The Weddingcrasher
Sorry, but is it known how large the Brotherhood without Banners is?At least approximately? Are there about 50-300 or rather 2000-15 000 ?And second, how large is the army of the Tyrells? I believe Renly had 80k under his banners, but at least 20k must have been Stormlords? He was well armed and there is no place in the plot that would cause him to lose his weapons on the way to the bearpit
