Galactus
Terry Goodkind: Superhero! Was just reading Terry Goodkind's discussion page at wikipedia. Some of the things that didn't make it into the actual article are hilarious! If reports can be believed, Goodkind possess the power of hypnosis and is trained in driving formula one racing cars (the racing cars bit was apparently verified by Mystar himself, so naturally this MUST be true!). Is it just me, or is Goodkind sounding more and more like a comic book superhero? By day, he is a mild mannered hack writer, but by night he fights against collectivism from the seat of his racing car and with the use of his strange mesmeric powers! Is Terry Goodkind the alter ego of Libertarian Man? Actually he sounds more like Chairman Mao or our "Beloved Leader" of North Korea.

Brys
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Goodkind Lovely. Terry Goodkind has been largely influenced by the books of Adolf Hitler Very true. 1995 - Best Hairstyle In Britan (Newcomer) (Nomination) 1995 - Award For Smallest Dick Locus Poll Award, Best Smallest Dick: Place: 95) 1996 - Gift of God [Gift bestowed by God himself, grants the user +5 to agility and +9 skill points to Yeard) Interesting array of awards. I'd watch out that Mystar doesn't do the same to GRRM's Wiki page.
BranTheBuilder
hmmm, its in wiki... must be true! from one of the links:Richard is slow to draw that sword, but, when he does, he fights with implacable deadliness. For example, in the eighth book, Naked Empire, Richard is traveling with a group of people when they are attacked by a body of men greatly outnumbering them. “A man rushing onward threw his arms up to seize Richard before his sword could be brought to bear. The sword’s tip whistled as it came around driven by deadly commitment. The blade severed one of the man’s raised arms before exploding through his skull.†Interestingly, Richard is able to use the Sword of Truth and his other powers only when he reaches a state of anger. As it happens, Richard often experiences anger, though it is always a righteous anger at the injustices of the world. sarcasm? no, he is an objectionist With that caveat, I would say: If you have never read a Goodkind novel, consider doing so. Personally, I had not read anything from the sword-and-sorcery genre since I was a teenager, and I read very little of it then.<yes, it shows too Yet I am enthralled by this series. There are nine books in the main series and a prequel. They run about 700-800 pages but are definitely worth the effort. Terry Goodkind writes fantasy—but it is fantasy that is actually about life on earth. This earth. somebody please send this guy Stego's reccomended list! I'd watch out that Mystar doesn't do the same to GRRM's Wiki page. no chance - that would be the behaviour of a schoolyeard bully who must tear down all that is good and true in the world... Werthead
Ow. Screwing with Wikipedia is not a good idea. They can track the IP numbers of people who do changes and ban them from amending anything again, for life (like they did to all IP numbers in the White House and the Capitol). BranTheBuilder
(like they did to all IP numbers in the White House and the Capitol). really? what caused that?
Jerol
The two figures in the center posed in a state of harmonious balance. The man's body displayed a proud masculinity. The only way I can read that is that the man is sporting a stiffy. Unless the man's yeard was so masculine it made even Richard weep.
Werthead
really? what caused that? References to George W. Bush's questionable 'AWOL' status in Vietnam were repeatedly deleted and a lot of arguments and issues were slanted to a pro-Republican level. The WikiFoundation got so utterly pissed off with it they banned all IP numbers originating in either the White House or the US Capitol from being able to amend anything on Wikipedia, along with a ton of home IPs (which, when studied, would almost certainly lead to impartial observers). Wikipedia takes it's responsibilities as a neutral site very carefully and doesn't tolerate spamming. MOD Asa, if it was you who changed the TG entry could you (or whoever did it) please go back and un-change it? As I've said before, taking the piss out of Goodkind is fair enough (obviously) but going off and vandalising another site, even if it is of no long-term consequence (your changes will be reverted back by an admin sooner or later), is below the belt and could lead to problems for this board (like complaints from the Wiki Foundation to Ran, who will probably not be amused). Cheers. ENDMOD

Werthead
Thank you. Not to be a party-pooper, but that can be anguish we really could do without. Also note that under AWARDS, TG hasn't actually won anything. I mean, is 49th place on Best SF/Fantasy Author of the Decade in Locus (a reader-voted poll) something to boast about? He's never been nominated for an award of distinction at all (Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy etc).

Maybe I’m misremembering this but isn’t this the scene where Richard rightfully slaughtered a bunch of unarmed hippies? In which case, it was Richard that attacked them and fighting with implacable deadliness is fairly easy against unarmed and unarmored people peacefully protesting Richard’s motives. Galactus
What we could do is write a reasonably unbiased article on "Chicken that is not a Chicken but Evil Manifest" no? In that case we could probably let the facts stand for themselves.
Red Sun
What we could do is write a reasonably unbiased article on "Chicken that is not a Chicken but Evil Manifest" no? In that case we could probably let the facts stand for themselves. And it would start like this: A spectre is haunting Europe — the spectre of a Chicken. All the powers of old Europe have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this Chicken.
Seventh Pup
Thank you It is a chicken. But it is a penguin. A penguin is not a chicken. Therefore it is the chicken that is not a chicken ie. pure evil. Or perhaps it is the penguin that is not a penguin? Is a penguin that is not a penguin also pure evil? Now if a chicken that is not a chicken gives an evil laugh when no one is around will it make a sound? You decide. No Richard (or Goodkind) must decide for us! May his mighty thing lead of in to a new golden age.
