The Corn Code revision 10, "Advena. Periculum. Mortis." Martins Hendiatris?

Time for a short little list of the 3 sigil standard. Not to say only people with this type of sigil die but chances are Martin put three on there for a reason. These are for characters you meet in the books. And when I say dead I don't mean of natural causes, I just don't feel like writing every brutal cause down.

House Wull, 3 buckets. Theo Wull, slain at the Tower of Joy. Hugo Wull is with Stannis and battle is coming.

House Tallhart, 3 sentinel trees. Helman, Benfred, Leobald, dead, dead, dead.

House Oakhart, 3 oak leaves. Aerys, dead.

House Leygood. 3 lightning bolts. Bree spots the shield among the dead at Duskendale. Note it's this shield she spots. Simon Leygood, well he is dead but I don't know how he died. Have not actually met a character from house Leygood in the Asoiaf series.

House Clegane. Most of them are dead and the mountain is well pretty much dead. That leaves Sandor. I got to call this shot he is a dead man. Yes he is suppose to be dead, but he will be really dead.

House Hollard, 3 gold crowns. Ser Dontos dead, his house destroyed.

House Horpe. 3 deaths head moths. Richard Horpe, I am going to say he is a dead man.

House Massey, a triple spiral, not sure if it is one thing or three. The sigil has them connected as one, so not sure here.

House Corbray, 3 ravens holding 3 hearts. Something tells me house Corbray is in for it.

House Moore, 3 spear heads, Mandon Moore dead.

House Bywater, 3 silver fish. Jacelyn Bywater, dead.

House Guant, 3 lances, Gwayne. dead.

House Charlton, 3 sprigs of mistletoe, Andrey Charlton slain

House Grell, 3 red birds, on his way to the wall, i am going to say he is either dead or going to die. Or never be seen again.

House Lolliston 3 Barrels, have not met anyone from here.

House Wode 3 hedgehogs. House Wode was seen to be destroyed by Jaime.

House Buckler 3 buckles, Brus Buckler a queens man at the wall. Marked for death.

House Selmy of Harvest hall, 3 stalks of yellow wheat. SOB! Ok that sucks.

House Qorgyle 3 scorpions, don't know if we have met a Qorgyle yet. If we did we have not seen them in a long time.

House Vaith 3 black leopards, have not met anyone from this house. These last two houses are basically from Dorne and we have not met anyone though it does not bold well for Dorne who has stayed out of the war.

House Waxley, 3 burning candles, we have not actually met anyone from here.

House Liddle 3 pinecones. Morgan Liddle, actually shouted out a death code as well. I am going to say he will die.

House Fenn 3 black water lilies, we have not met anyone from here.

The three sisters, something tells me something bad is going to happen there.

House Beesbury 3 Bee hives Humphrey Beesbury killed in the trial of 7. 2 Others are dead of natural causes and one still lives but we met him only for a second and have not seen him since then.

House Peake 3 castles, 3 members of house Peake serve in the Gold company. Anyone think they live through book 6?

House Ball, 3 balls, Quentyn Ball slain at Redgrass.

House Orne, 3 harps, have not met anyone from House Orne.

House Plumm, 3 plumms, Brown Ben Plumm. Alive, but for how long.

House Spicer, 3 pepper pots, anyone remember what they did? Hint major culprits in the red wedding. You know Martin is not letting that go.

House Lorch 3 gold coins, Amory Lorch, dead.

House Kenning, 3 lightning bolts Ralf Kenning Dead.

Well so far the pattern seems pretty consistant, most of the none deaths are from houses where we have not actually met anyone. The few still alive are all in really bad locations. And one or 2 have gone missing for multiple books. Selmy and Sandor are the two big names but I think most expect them to die. Skipped over several houses as all I had was the sigil but no people. Though I would guess some of these locations are going to be on the receiving of the wars yet to come.

About Sandor, I'd like to add, that he is playing a role markedly similar to Lady, a dog she got for the wolf she lost. Many believe she skinchanged into him subconsciously to calm him at the end of ACoK. LAdy didn't survive, so maybe he won't either, once his task is done that is.

Congrats I have not looked at the chapter yet but that looks like Drogo's death code. Been looking for that myself. If it fits the rules that is a future death code of a mid level character. I will double check in the morning but it looks right.

if it is then we have a new first code as this comes at least 1 chapter before Robberts no code. it would also be the longest code in the books what with 7 words and all.

found another from aGoT Eddard III(?) when Arya is brought before the king to tell the story of Nymera attacking Joffrey. its after Sansa says she doesnt remember what happened.

"Liar, liar, liar, liar."

probably for Lady, thought it could be for Mycah. thought im unsure about it being a 4 code. i think the other 4 codes had a text break

Yes all true but that is important, because as I always say it's not about the word or words though they can be important, it's about the pattern. That code fits the pattern.

Ok time for some predictions. A couple predictions already exist in the OP with the pink letter and the 3 fires prophecy as neither are confirmed yet. I am holding off on the WOW codes from the preview chapters, and there are a couple predictions that are already in the shield portion of the reply section. And people, ladies in particular excuse the language I didn't write this first code, Martin did.

Cunt! He roard each time he struck at her, his spittle dampening her cheeks. "Cunt! Cunt!

Originally I thought this was Asha’s code but the italics suggest it is not obvious.

It's a future code.

It's is a death code.

It is a significant event.

A few problems exist. One Asha does not warrent this code, it's too big, she just has not had all that many chapters that she is on par with the likes of Ned, Jon, Dany, Tyrion in terms of significance to the books. Two she is the only obvious choice there. Not everything is what it seems with Italics. That does not mean she will not die in the future, but this is not her code. Nor do I think Martin would actually mark a woman this way.

Clues. The scene is a minor battle. It is a future code. The C word itself, golden wood, red burning hearts, black Stag with flaming antlers, and possibly trumpet. I don't think it is Stannis but tied to him. This may be a battle. A future battle involving Stannis and his army.

The use of "you bloody c word." It’s a very personal thing for Martin to use. Though later the character who says it apologizes for saying it. Morgan Liddle, who also has 3 pinecones on his shield The event is the battle which should be very significant and Morgan Liddle will die in this battle.

“Ben Jen,” the raven squawked, bobbing it’s head, bit’s of egg dribbling from its beak. “Ben Jen. Ben Jen.”

Ok so the name is broken that's your first clue. It's in italics and it's a future code. Now remember the scene, you always have to check the scene. Within a page Mormont brings up Benjen again, and that is the clue, he says they will find him "Alive or Dead." Ben is both and it was in fact a member of the watch who found him. Sam. I am not saying it's cold hands, but it's Coldhands. Ben is not dead or alive he is both.

Yarwyik, Marsh and Cellador.

" Grant him strength," answered Queen Selyse and her knights and ladies. " Grant him courage, Grant him wisdom". Grant is repeated three times but we end up with Strength, courage, wisdom."

This is a death code, It's a future pattern. So who is it for? Stannis is mentioned, Jon is there, not even close to being a code big enough for either of them. It's in italics, so not everything is what it appears at first glance, time to get clever. There are three big clues in the code itself.

Strength.

Courage.

Wisdom.

Much like the hounds Bugger that code which points to two people. This is actually pointing to 3 men, not the use of him. And if you look at the scene right before that is said three men are named. And they seem to fit rather nicely with those three words.

Othell Yarwyik The First builder "Strength"

Bowen Marsh First Steward "Courage"

Septon Cellador, Septon of Castle black "Wisdom"

The words are not so much about the people as the titles. But you can use the titles to identify the people. So while not a huge surprise to anyone these three are going to die. What is important here is the specific nature of this code it is giving you a ton of clues in the code itself. Also the order in which the aspects are given is the same as the order the names appear.

Jon Snow now I am going to do a few codes for Jon which are tied Yarwyik, Marsh and Cellador, Jon’s name and Tom Barleycorn. The Corn king and Barley corn are based off another thread started by Apple Martini based the Barleycorn folk lore and song. I don’t have the link and if anyone can post it that would be great.

A dance with Dragons ch 39.

“Free,” the raven muttered. “Corn. King.”

Jon is meeting with Marsh, Yarwyik and Cellador and making enemies of them. The pattern is a future death code but while the pattern is correct the 3 words don’t match so it is a broken or near death code. But for who? What is the code telling you. Well the italics are a clue and that means it is not obvious. The words are the second clue. The third clue is Tom Barleycorn who is around a lot in this chapter. Jon would appear to be the subject, and he is, but what is not obvious is who is the Corn king, please read Apples thread if you haven’t. My interpretation is the near death of Jon will free the Corn King, as Jon does not know who he is. So when Jon gets up I think things for his life will change most of all his last name.

Val, Jon and Ghost

“Corn,” it cried. “Corn, corn corn.” Ch 53 Dance.

What we have is a future danger code but in italics. Right after this the Raven mutters “Snow.” Val appears with Ghost dressed in all white with her weirwood face, pin. “They look as though they belong together.” Now I skip most danger codes as people are in danger a lot, but there is some significance here. Now this could simply be talking about the future and the ambush at Hardins tower where Val stays. But the way Val is dressed and Ghost are major clues to Bloodraven along with the Raven. It’s a very symbolic picture the Albino wolf with red eyes, Val in all white with the face of a wierwood on her clasp and of course the raven. I think the danger here is Bloodraven. Now this has been discussed before, but here is the significance. The prologue of dance goes out of it’s to show you just what a warg can do and Bloodraven is basically a demi god warg and greenseer. I think he knew what Marsh and them were up too. He doesn’t just have to be a raven he can be any animal or insect as we see in the prologue. Normally it seems he has protected Jon, but time is growing short and the Others are coming. He needs to talk to Jon and as Jojen points out it is those on their death beds he comes too and talks too. Does that mean it is the only way for him to communicate with someone, no I think he has the ability to place a thought in a person’s head or give them a vision. But that is not enough here, he needs direct communication he needs Jon to almost die so Azor Ahai can be reborn. I think he also came to Dany and told her to wake the dragons, when Dany was on her death bed and I think he has been influencing Quaith heavily and at times he is Quaith the masked woman much the way Coldhands is masked. If Bloodraven actually wanted Ghost with Jon why would he have him snapping at everyone including Jon? A warg could have had a nice calm Dire wolf, he made Ghost angry so Jon wouldn’t take him, and I think he may have been dropping little mind bombs in the heads of Marsh and his cronies.

My prediction is Bloodraven was the danger to Jon and behind his assassination attempt and it will be revealed in winds.

Jon Snow.

Dance Ch 58.

“Corn,” the bird said and “King,” and, “Snow, Jon Snow, Jon Snow.”

This is another broken pattern it’s in the form of a future death code but is a bit odd it’s a near death code, or is it? We see Corn King once again used and as suggested by the previous code and the Barleycorn theory that is Jon. The question is why should Jon need to near death codes? As Jon points out the statement is odd and the bird is using his full name. I’ll get to this in a second.

Right before this is said this is what is written. “He rose and dressed in darkness, as Mormont’s raven muttered across the room. This happens right after Jon dreams the Azor Ahai dream. Take note of how Jon dresses, in Darkness, but there are two sides to that. “Jon is dressing in the “predawn gloom.” Feel free to tie predawn to the Azor Ahai dream if you want and this whole thing if you want. The other side to the Darkness is Jon dressed in darkness, his clothes are all black he is literally dressed in darkness. Later in Jon’s chapters right before Jon takes his walk to the hall and then his assassination, Martin actually substitutes Black in place of dark.

So how does the code there tie to all this. Well in the death pattern what is repeated 3 times? Snow. Bloodraven is killing off Jon’s last name so Azor Ahai can be reborn. The code is not big enough for Jon, but it is big enough for a name.

Which all leads to this.

“There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world.”

Now it’s pointed out in Jon’s last chapter of dance that Ser Patryk is dead and his cloak which is full of stars is covered in dripping blood, but what about the second part of the sentence? “And the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world.” The last word of the chapter is in fact “cold,” and Jon is dressed in darkness as pointed out by Martins own words, and he has fallen to the ground.

I like to call the Jon before he was stabbed Predawn Jon. Hmmmm Dawn.

The prediction? Jon is alive his last name is gone, Bloodraven helped make this happen, that he will come to Jon in his near dead state, and that Jon is fulfilling the lightbringer prophecy and is in fact Azor Ahai come again. Oh and Dawn is Lightbringer, he just does not have it yet. The clues are always right around the code and Martin left a lot of clues around those codes and in Jon’s chapters.

If BR controled Marsh to give him the "balls" to do what he has done, it will make slightly more sense yes. It might even explain the tears... but not the "For the Watch" unless this is BR doing too... well whatever, fun read.

I am not saying controlled him, just saying a suggestion in a dream, much like Dany had one to wake the Dragons, or a dream itself. Not direct control, or just he knew it was coming and didn't try and stop it till he had too. The 4th knife. Basically he let something go or helped it along a little bit. Clearly did not try and stop it, and my guess is until he needed to. He doesn't want death, he wants near death, he needs it. Like the thing with Ghost, he pretty much made sure Ghost would not be with Jon. The only reason Jon didn't take Ghost is he was acting up, Bloodraven can prevent that. And that first watchman who nicked Jon's neck was acting pretty strange.

from aGoT Bran III. its the chapter he wakes up in. on the last or next to last page

"He's awake, he's awake, he's awake."

said by random Winterfell serving women.

i already talked with you about this code before bringing it up here. anyways you interpreted it as

"It's not a kill code it's a whisper of danger code. In kill codes the punctuation all matches. "He's awake, He's awake, He's awake.' Would be how a kill code is written. Whisper of danger "A, a, a." Danger "A, A, a." Death "A, A, A," "a, a, a." It's got to match for death."

Tough call, but death. Valyria is blown up, they have had a lot of wars, a lot death, the house itself is in ruins with only one confirmed person alive. Confirmed by Martin. Dany has been surrounded by death. Jon for that matter and they both came into the world via death. The 3 dragons, death. And I do believe in a third targ and I don't think it's Aegon. The man works in threes. So will they live or die. Well Dany has been reborn once already from the fire, Jon probably goes through the same thing via Mel, that leaves the missing third and only death can pay for life. I think the 3 will bring a lot of death, to who? The Others most likely and maybe a few people who have pissed them off. In the end I don't know cause the whole rebirth thing is hard to add into the mix. I will need to see a code before I am sure if the big three die. And I tend to believe Tyrion is the third. I used to be very opposed to this idea and Theory, but boy Martin loves that character. Not sure though, it could be Bloodraven as the third, maybe he gets himself a new body by taking it over. But the color coding of the dragons, Martins love for Tyrion, Tyrion and dragons, the bond he suddenly had with Jon, now he is headed towards Dany, and Tyrion himself having been born in the same manner as both of them. Whoever wrote that Tyrion theory I may have to apologize to cause the more I am seeing, the more Tyrion is sticking out. Lets just say I won't put it past Martin. Plus Martins history, it was him a guy named John I think and a woman back in his NW days. Those are close friends of his. Might be a little homage in there to them. And Martin is most like Tyrion. But that I don't know about. Tyrion yes or know? I can't say but it's become far more interesting to me recently than it was a year ago when I discredited the idea. 3 headed Dragon, death around that sigil? No question. Does that mean Jon and Dany die. If he was not playing the rebirth card I would say yes. But he is so that makes it a lot tougher question. Plus it's not Jon's sigil.

Possibly... The 3 heads of the dragon need to experience this rebirth before they become one, and are therefore all safe.... perhaps.... Since it's is not 3 dragons, just 3 heads. "The (single) dragon must have 3 heads."

Edit: In other words, the dragon has a single body on the sigil. Each head must "die" according to your sigil code, but they share a single "body"

I don't think Tyrion's injuries at Blackwater are enough for him to be the candidate (as yet). So maybe another prediction is in order for Tyrion, or someone else with possible Targaryen blood.

This is fascinating. I'm in awe of all the work you've done.

Great additions to the thread...and a moment of silence for your Bears! On the subject of sigils and three; Loras Tyrell's personal sigil is three gold roses on a field of green. Loras is said to have been gravely injured in re-taking Dragonstone and many readers suspect he's either dead or not as badly injured as told.

Plus it actually is 3 dragons, literally 3 of them and according to the books a dragon bonds with one rider, once that happens another dragon won't let you ride it. I am not locking anything down with Tyrion, though a theory I once ignored does have me really fascinated right now. Much like Martins clues they are always right in front of your face, Tyrion is easy to dismiss but yet so much evidence points to him.

I know the quote said by a relative of his that says he is Tywins son, but you know what, the same quote was made about Jon, by Cat. That Jon was more Neds son then her own kids.

Can anyone find a code or anything relating to Jojen Reed? It bugs me the whole jojen paste theory so i was wondering if any1 has found any code or better hints as to what happened to Jojen and Meera

Bran only has 4 chapters in Dance and I would have to look over all the codes in 4 of the books to lock it down. But in Dance there are a lot of Danger codes in Brans chapters. But I don't recall a death code among them, I'll look again. I am not down with Jojen paste, Jojen having his body taken over by Bloodraven or even Bran would seem like a far more practical use of his body. I have wondered about a code for Jojen, but mostly because of Jojen talking about his own death. It will take awhile to go over all Brans chapters though.

I have a Loras code, though I don't remember what I did with it. It's when Tommen was practicing his joiusting. It's a broken code and Loras seemed to be the subject. I think the word was Champion. Right after that I believe he asks to go to Dragonstone. Loras is alive, according to the code, however, that does not mean alive forever. If three golden roses is his sigil. Then I can imagine Martin will kill him off but still has a use for him. I'll see if I can find the code.
