Westeros: The Great Houses and their Vassals

Recommended Posts

Hey, guys. This is only my second post ever on this forum, so be gentle.

I enjoy cartography in my spare time, and I absolutely love maps from fantasy (the world of ASoIaF is one of my top favorites). Obviously, we know what Westeros looks like and how the regions are broken between the Great Houses. But I desire to research further; I want to see how each individual region is broken into the vassals of the Great Houses.

Now, I know that we don't even know where some castles of certain lesser Houses are even located, but I figure that there HAS to be a map in existence somewhere that gets pretty damn close to being accurate.

BUT, I've been Google searching all throughout the two classes I've had this morning, and I CAN'T find ANYTHING. I seriously cannot be the only one interested in this topic!

If you guys know where to look, please help a brotha out!

Sidenote: If one doesn't already exist, I may start making one in my spare time (which isn't much being a college student), and if I do, I'll post it here for whoever is interested in this topic!

I worked on this speculative political map of the North about a year ago. For what its worth. I'm not aware of any other attempts to even delve into this interesting topic, a state of affairs which I find rather disappointing, I might add.

Anyway, here's the link to my previous thread and the speculative regions ruled by each northern vassal house.

Here's the direct link to the speculative map itself:

The Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2 has a map like what you are after. Free Northman's map of the North seems pretty similar to the way we have it. I'll throw up some screencaps of the regions.
