Illyrio Mopatis vs Aegon IV the Unworthy

In the TV show, Illyrio seems like an ordinary type but in the books, he resembles a historical figure in a very suspicious way.

Both Aegon IV the Unworthy (UnWorthy in short) and Illyrio were slim, muscular, handsome in their youth but later they ended fat and corrupt. Illyrio is described as blonde in the books.

They are both corrupt politicians. Remember the diaoluge of Varys and Illyrio that Arya was listening. Illyrio did not give any single shit about the murder of Ned. He can do and does anything according to his political agenda.

Illyrio was a sellsword in his youth but he does not say much about it. Was he serving in Golden Company or Second Sons? If this is the case, is there a possibilty that he is blood-related to Blackfyres or Brightflames (descendants of Aerion)?

Illyrio and Varys formed an unlikely friendship. Is it unlikely because one of them is a Blackfyre (anti-Targaryen) and the other is a Brightflame (Targaryen)?

Illyrio's first wife was the daughter of a cousin of Prince of Pentos. Later he is married to Serra from Lys. Dany reminded him of Serra so much that after seeing Dany in the dress he gave to her, he is aroused and banged a whore resembling Dany-Serra with great joy. Very UnWorthy-like I can say.

Prince of Pentos was furious at him when he married Serra. Is it because chosing lowborn Serra over his highborn relative? Or can it be that Prince of Pentos and Serra were from opposing factions (Brightflame/Blackfyre)? Was that the Tattered Prince?

Millions of people are slim, muscular, and handsome in youth and end up fat and lazy as an adult. That's not really evidence for anything. Also, I'm not sure that being corrupt is a genetic condition. Plus, why would it be surprising that Illyrio couldn't care less about Ned?

Illyrio doesn't seem nearly as corrupt as Aegon IV.

While we have ample evidence of him liking whores, he doesn't go around siring bastards on every high and lowborn he can find. He's also taking an active role in shaping the monarchy for future generations (supposedly for the better), while Aegon just let problems develop without giving a crap.

Also, we know Ilyrio was a bravo in his youth, which isn't the same thing s a general sellsword. It's unlikely he ever served with the Golden company, as that kind of thing probably would have been brought up during his recruitment of them.

I am agreeing with everything you are saying.

If there were so many Tagraryen descendents so high up in the Free Cities, I doubt Steffon would have had such an impossible time finding a wife for Rhaegar only a little over 20 years before the present time in ASOIAF.

such descendants would have been bastards and very unsuitable.

A Blackfyre bride is unthinkable. And there may not be a suitable Brightflame bride available then, of course assuming they dont hide their lineage.
