Carter209
There is no Lord of Skagos. There are three houses on the island, but no one rules the whole place Okay, then the daughter of the most powerful Lord on Skagos.
Draco_Dracul
My recall is that that's a line from the show, not the books. Which I put down to the same reasoning as upping Ned's cred as a sword fighter, etc. But I could easily be wrong. In the show Robert says that Ned would have been the better king and Ned retorts that Robert had the better claim. In the book the exact exchange is: Robert:“Damn you, Ned Stark. You and Jon Arryn, I loved you both. What have you done to me? You were the one should have been king, you or Jon.” Ned: “You had the better claim, Your Grace.” A Targaryen mother would trump a Targaryen grandmother which rules out Ned's mother being a Targaryen. ladytiger
I have a theory that Jon is already the King of Winter because this title is inherited via the FEMALE line, going nephew to nephew. Lyanna's uncle from wherever was the last K o Winter, but the title came to Jon on his death (or when Jon turned 16) Oooo, do elaborate.
Lost Melnibonean
If Jon's grandmother is from Skagos and his father is Rhaegar that would make him a stone dragon. Now where have I heard about stone dragons before?
The Meeraculous Third Reed
I very much doubt Ned's mother was from Skagos. Paternal grandmother is far more likely.
